Coalition for Reforms and Democracy leader Raila Odinga has cautioned President Uhuru Kenyatta of a "political storm" if the Jubilee government maintains a hardline stance against the national dialogue his team is seeking.

But in a quick rejoinder from Nyeri, at the burial of Governor Nderitu Gachagua's father, Deputy President William Ruto hit back at the Opposition.

"We are telling them that the election is over, it is time they gave us a break and let us implement ourmanifesto. After three-and-half years we will be back to the electorate and they will decide," said Ruto, who has been against the dialogue.

Ruto said the Government was stable and would withstand the pressure from the Opposition."Let me assure Kenyans that the Government under the stewardship of President Uhuru Kenyatta is firm. We are used to these noises and we will not let down Kenyans,'' the DP went on.

But in what seems to be a hardening of positionsfive days since he returned from abroad, the former Prime Minister said the country is in crisis on various fronts, including insecurity and corruption. Raila said these matters could not be sorted out by the Jubilee coalition alone.

CrisisAddressing a political rally in Nairobi's Eastleigh Estate, Raila told Uhuru he couldn't afford to play "deaf and dumb" to demands for serious talks between the Jubilee government and the Opposition.

Raila asked Uhuru to brace for a political storm that will sweep across the country.

"I tell my brother Uhuru, ‘You have to look up and see the coming storm. This will not be an ordinary storm. It will be a powerful roaring political storm, which can only be stopped if you hold serious talks with us. There is no turning back. The country is in a crisis,'" Raila threatened.

He added: "If the President rejects our offer for talks, Kenyans will conduct their own talks during "Saba Saba Day" (July 7) and make a decision there on how to move forward."

The Orange leader termed as an insult likening the "national dialogue" to a "cup of tea" at State House.

He insisted that he wants nothing short of substantive discussions and tight agreements on key national issues including tackling what he termed as runaway insecurity, corruption, threats to Devolution and the disbandment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

"The talks we are demanding are not about inviting us to State House for a cup of tea with the President. We don't lack cups of tea where we are now. No, that would be an insult. We want serious discussions on how the country can move forward."

He went on: "Things are so bad that we can't wait for 2017. The talks have to happen now."

He said Uhuru appears willing to engage in substantive discussions with the Opposition, but is being dissuaded by a clique of political leaders and advisers in the coalition who are pushing a hardline stance.

"When Uhuru gave a speech on Madaraka Day, he said he was ready to engage in serious talks with the Opposition. A few days later, he changes his mind. He should not be dissuaded from these urgent talks by those around him for he is the one who will face the political storm that is coming," insisted Raila. -

Come on Rao. The infectious disease you were infected while in the US has no cure back in Kenya. Seek treatment abroad. There is a procedural way of airing ur grievances. IN THE PARLIAMENT, IN THE SENATE AND COUNTYASSEMBLIES. Let the opposition engage the govt in these houses for serious debates. Work the way forward from there. Kenyans need peaceful atmosphere to run their daily business. Lost time with unnecessary political rallies and bickering will not be recovered. We understand the problems facing the country, but talk it out amicably with ruling coalition without causing fuss.

Uhuru Kenyatta & William Ruto have effectively sidelined over 65% of the population. The concentration of power in Central Kenya and Rift Valley is bound to push Kenya to the edge.

People in the Coast, Western, Nyanza, Eastern & North Eastern are all seething. The country is divided than and a revolution is in the offing.

The IEBC, in its current form, has lost the trust of the public. It must be reformed into a truly impartial monitor.

Special mention: Insecurity, tribalism, corruption, inflation, poverty...

This is a powder keg!

kenyans are a peaceful lot but this man won't sleep, he operates effectively around controversy. there is only death of innocent people in the offing, for any revolution to be successful the actors lazima wawe wamejipanga sawa sawa. the MRC post kibaki regime had such ambtions including engaging in terrorism and civil disruptions only to find out that the govt was strong GSU were put everywhere. now the MRC have learned and chosen the best choice through muslim leaders and politicians at the coast are seeking for quiet national dialogue.

groups like mungiki engaged in such activities for a long time thinking they would gain, now they are killing one another, very many abled bodied men have died . let not kenyans be trapped in fighting one against another under the guise of revolution. as odinga has shown he might fly back to the USA once viloence has started. this man is baying for blood shed to start in kenya. let not keny fall prey to what other regions are experiencing. negotiations with the british govt to lift ban on mirror is the wisest thing to do he will be serving to build kenya

wanasiasa pia waache kutunga propaganda katika mikutano. kenyans don't need to be cheated anymore they need development.

“I tell my brother Uhuru, ‘You have to look up and see the coming storm. This will not

Raila Odinga is a lion, but a very old one.

This time around, he is doing it with, not one capable
lion, but two very confident and powerful young lions, UhuRuto.:smile-big::whistle::smiling:

The old Agwambo is still employing those simple and the
only known tricks of his,,,,the mass actions,to instil fear
on his political opponents.

He did use those magic words to fight the old and poor
Mwai and he, Kibaki, on many occasions had no options
but to give in for whatever Agwambo asked for.

But Raila bin Odinga, Agwambo sir, you are very mistaken
this time.

You are playing with fire and a very hot one.

You are dealing with a very powerful pair of homos, and,,
who happen to be leading the government of Kenya, people
who came into power when everybody was watching,,,
under the sun.

Even the great ICC could not stop it,,,,,

These people controls both parliament and senate, that is, they
have majorities in both houses.

These two people commands the support of the majority of
Kenyans, you like it or hate it, it will not matter.

These two people, UhuRuto commands the armed forces of Kenya, Air force,
the army, Navy, GSU, AP's, Police.

So what is Raila talking about if not just testing the waters?

He is simply bluffing, he has nothing on his side if not a few miraa chewing
and chang'aa drinking supporters who never vote for him when he needs
them most.

Those are the kinds of people who fills around the place and,,,,, when Raila
sees them, he deceives himself that he has Kenya on his side,, and starts
giving ultimatums as if he owns Kenyans.

Now he is talking of,,,dhorubas,,, that is,,Kenya will tremble as a result
of what he will do.

He will amass people and shake the government into submission.

Why????????????

Because the government does not want to hold national dialogue.

He is so superior and very special opposition leader in the world even
than those in Nigeria where hundreds of girls have been taken by
terrorist, a country where security situation is so bad that gunmen
do ride on motorcycles and spry bullets in daylight on people and
after massacring people, will just vanish into the crowd.

How many bombs have exploded since Raila came from America???

He will have to wait for more four years to do his campaigns if he
does not want to experience embarrassment and death to his
supporters, those who will want to bring any chaos to Kenya.

You cannot bring the government of Kenya down that easily, he
tried many times but hit walls.

The closest was in 2007 when he got Nusu Mkate.

He should stop those medications which the side effect is those
dreams that he will ever get another Nusu mkate,,and,, to make
it even laughable,,,,

One year from general elections, and minus,, Kofi bin Anan,,,,,.

Some funds from America or wherever will not help,,, only ending up
with miraa dealers and mama pimas, and those drunk poor chaps on
streets being crashed by GSU into oblivion and not even Obama can
do anything about it.

Mtoto akililia wembe,,,,,,,mpee.

Raila is Starting the old Odinga's Kenyattas wars?????????

He is still the under dog as was his father during mzee Kenyatta's
reign.

But the war will end up this time,,,,for Raila will not match the great machine
around this time.

That is why jubilee do not even mind when he goes around and say funny things.

They know that they can contain him any time he goes,,,,beyond the line.

That is,,,he is manageable.

AS much as we would like people to blog, some seem to have the idea of importing ethnicity practiced back in their country to Tanzania. Tanzanians would not accept such derogative attacks against their leaders brought in our newspapers. We know how the present government came in place and we would not want to interfere with those issues since those are issues to do with Kenyans. And for Raila, Tanzanians know him very well that we don't need someone to come and tell us his age, his political life and his fight for democracy. Tanzania is built on respects of individuals regardless of tribe or where you come from. On the contrary, Keny is built through tribal lines and by extension a particular tribe would not want others to govern the country. WE don't accept that in Tanzania because everyone has right to fight for any political office.

I doubt there will be much impact this time as the youths who killed and maimed for him during 2007/2008 PEV are not available, especially Rift Valley.
