Rainwater was found to contain unsafe levels of forever chemicals.


Rainwater almost everywhere on Earth has unsafe levels of ‘forever chemicals’, according to new research.
Per- and Poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFOAS/PFAS) are a large family of human made chemicals that don’t occur in nature. They are known as ‘forever chemicals’ because they don’t break down in the environment.
They have non-stick or stain repellent properties so can be found in household items like food packaging, electronics, cosmetics and cookware.

But now researchers at the University of Stockholm have found them in rainwater in most locations on the planet,including Antarctica. There is now no safe space to escape them.

Rainwater everywhere is unsafe to drink​

Safe guideline levels for some of these forever chemicals have dropped dramatically over the last two decades due to new insights into their toxicity.

“There has however been an astounding decline in guideline values for PFOAs in drinking water in the last 20 years,” says Ian Cousins, lead author of the study and professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Stockholm University.

For one well-known substance, the “cancer causing Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA)”, water guideline values have declined by 37.5 million times in the US. Why this is the case is not exactly clear,but it is believed to be related to the 2030 agenda for sustainable development,which calls for reduction of the Global human population to levels which the World can sustain,insanely considered to be 500 million humans according to the NWO psycopaths!

Based on the latest US guidelines for PFOAs in drinking water, rainwater everywhere would be judged unsafe to drink.

Lead author of the study says,

“Based on the latest US guidelines for PFOAs in drinking water, rainwater everywhere would be judged unsafe to drink." He continues,

"Although in the industrial world people don’t often drink rainwater, many people around the world do,and expect it to be safe to drink. Moreover rain water supplies much of our drinking water sources as ground water.”

What risk do ‘forever chemicals’ pose to our health?​

The health risks of being exposed to these substances have been researched widely. Scientists say that they are linked to many problems including fertility problems, increased risk of cancer,diabetes,heart diseases and developmental delays in children.

Though we don't usually drink rainwater it does feed the water sources we rely on as already pointed out. Because of this, some are calling for tighter restrictions on PFOAs

“It cannot be accepted that some few benefit economically,while polluting the drinking water of billions of others, and causing serious health problems,” says Dr Jane Muncke, Managing Director of the Food Packing Foundation in Zurich,who wasn’t involved in the study.

“The vast amounts that it will cost to reduce PFOAs in drinking water to levels that are safe, based on current scientific understanding, needs to be paid by the industry producing and using these toxic chemicals”
The time to act, she says, is now.

Per- na Poly-fluoroalkyl (PFOAs/PFAs) ni familia kubwa ya kemikali zilizotengenezwa na binadamu ambazo sio za asili. Zinajulikana kama ‘kemikali za milele’ kwa sababu haziharibiki katika mazingira.
Kemikali hizi zinaweza kupatikana katika bidhaa za nyumbani kama vile vifungashio vya chakula, vifaa vya elektroniki, vipodozi na vyombo vya kupikia.
Lakini sasa watafiti katika Chuo Kikuu cha Stockholm wamezipata kwenye maji ya mvua katika maeneo mengi kwenye duniani, ikiwa ni pamoja na Antaktika. Hakuna mahali salama sasa pa kuweza kuzikimbia.

Maji ya mvua kila mahali si salama kunywa tena.Viwango vya mwongozo salama kwa baadhi ya kemikali hizi za milele vimepungua kwa kiasi kikubwa katika miongo miwili iliyopita kutokana na maarifa mapya kuhusu sumu hizo.
"Kumekuwa na kushuka kwa kushangaza katika mwongozo wa viwango salama vya PFOAs kwenye maji ya kunywa katika miaka 20 iliyopita," anasema Ian Cousins, Mtafiti Mkuu wa utafiti na Profesa katika Idara ya Sayansi ya Mazingira, Chuo Kikuu cha Stockholm.
Inayojulikana kwamba PFOAs zinasababisha Kansa.Hata hivyo mwongozo wa viwango vya chini vinavyokubalika katika maji vya kemikali hizi umepungua kwa mara milioni 37.5 nchini Marekani kwa mfano. Hali hii inasikitisha,hasa ukizingatia kwamba kiwango chochote Cha PFOAs katika maji Ni hatari. Ni wazi hakuna uwazi katika Jambo hili kabisa, lakini inaaminika kuwa hii inahusiana na ajenda ya 2030 ya maendeleo endelevu, ambayo inataka kupunguzwa kwa idadi ya watu Duniani hadi viwango ambavyo Dunia inaweza kuhimili.Idadi hii inakisiwa kuwa wanadamu milioni 500 kulingana na makisio ya NWO psycopaths!

Kulingana na miongozo ya hivi karibuni ya Marekani ya PFOAs katika maji ya kunywa, maji ya mvua kila mahali Duniani si salama kunywa.

"Ingawa katika ulimwengu wa viwanda mara nyingi hatunywi maji ya mvua, watu wengi ulimwenguni kote hunywa, na wanatarajia kuwa maji hayo ni salama kwa kunywa. Zaidi ya hayo, maji ya mvua hutoa vyanzo vingi vya maji ya kunywa kama maji ya chini."

Je, ‘kemikali za milele’ zina hatari gani kwa afya zetu?

Hatari za kiafya za PFOAs zimefanyiwa utafiti kwa upana. Wanasayansi wanasema kuwa zinahusishwa na matatizo mengi ikiwa ni pamoja na matatizo ya uzazi, diabetes,shinikizo la damu,magonjwa ya moyo,ongezeko la hatari ya kupata saratani na ucheleweshaji wa ukuaji wa watoto.

Ingawa maji ya Mvua Mara nyingi haya-nywewi,hata hivyo hulisha vyanzo vya maji tunavyotegemea kama ilivyoonyeshwa tayari. Kwa sababu hii, watu kila mahali wana-shauriwa wasinywe maji ya mvua,na kuwe na miongozo mikali na ya kitaalamu kwenye PFOAs.

"Haikubaliki kuwa watu wachache wananufaika kiuchumi, huku wakichafua maji ya kunywa ya mabilioni ya wengine, na kusababisha matatizo makubwa ya kiafya," anasema Dk Jane Muncke, Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Ufungashaji wa Chakula huko Zurich, ambaye hakuhusika katika utafiti.

"Kiasi kikubwa Cha fedha ambacho kitahitajika kupunguza PFOAs katika maji ya kunywa hadi viwango ambavyo ni salama, kulingana na uelewa wa sasa wa kisayansi, kinahitaji kulipwa na sekta inayozalisha na kutumia kemikali hizi za sumu."Anasema Dr.Jane.Wakati wa kuchukua hatua, anasema, ni sasa.
