REAL FEAR THEY WILL NEED HIM IF THEY LOSE ANY STRIKERS TO INJURY
Chicharito Hernández has barely seen any first-team action since joining Real Madrid, despite Carlo Ancelotti's satisfaction with his work in training. However, the Mexican forward still has plenty of suitors across Europe. Proof of this is the number of clubs that have expressed an interest in him, the most recent being Serie A side Lazio.
Claudio Lotito's club has expressed its interest in the forward who is on loan from Manchester United, but Real's initial response was very blunt: "Chicharito is not going anywhere".
The Mexican could still prove important in the event of one of Real's other three first-team strikers picking up a serious injury. "What if one of our other strikers picks up a serious injury, just as Modric did?" That's the question emanating from the upper echelons of the club and it is due to that fear that Real are unwilling to offload Chicharito.
The player is thrilled to be at Real Madrid and loves the city, but he has considered leaving the club due to a lack of first-team football during the past two months.
So far Chicharito has only played 509 minutes of competitive football - 161 in La Liga, 180 in the Spanish Cup and 168 in the Champions League -, but more importantly he has only started five matches: the league game against Levante, both legs of the cup tie against Cornellá and both legs of the Champions League tie against Ludogorets.
Lucas Silva completed his third training session with Real Madrid yesterday, once again offering Carlo Ancelotti a glimpse of what he can offer, and as the days tick by the Italian is increasingly sure that he wants him to feature against Real Sociedad on Saturday.
Despite only having one week of pre-season training under his belt at Cruzeiro, Lucas Silva has arrived in Madrid in great shape and he is adapting very well to his new team.
His teammates' support has been crucial during his first days at the club. Yesterday, Arbeloa publicly welcomed him to the club by posting a photo of himself alongside Kroos, Pacheco, Isco, Illarra and Lucas to social networks with the following message: "Welcome to the best club in the world, Lucas. Give your life for this dream"!
On another note, Pepe also stepped out on the pitch to train alone under the watchful eye of the club's physios.
The La Liga leaders continue with their preparations for Real Sociedad's upcoming visit. Carlo Ancelotti presided over the second last session uphead of Saturday's game (8pm PST) in the Santiago Bernabéu. The biggest news was that Martin Odegaard completing his first training session as a Real Madrid player.
The Whites began their training with a circuit that combined ball work with jumping over hurdles. Following on from that, they carried out a series of passing and ball circulation drills. Cristiano Ronaldo exercised in the indoor facilities, while Pepe and Modric continued with their recovery work.

-"January is a complicated month for Real because they have a lot of games and it doesn't seem as if Real Madrid are in the same dynamic they were at the start (of the season)."
- "Saying that, they have great potential and the game is at the Bernabéu too. We expect the best Madrid."
- "[on set pieces] We're working everything. Ramos is probably the best in the league in this sense and we'll try to prevent that."
- "We had a rough experience with Ramos in the first game."
- "I was lucky enough to play at Real Madrid and it was a dream. I opted to leave through my own will."
- "I was closest to Arbeloa & we still have a good relationship. He was the leader in the dressing room when I was there."
- "I hope to score, I would love to. But I would NOT celebrate out of respect for the fans that have given me EVERYTHING in life."
- "I wouldn't do anything that could offend the Real Madrid fans."
