Real Madrid play hosts to the Coruña side in the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday.

The La Liga leaders completed their final training session of the week in Ciudad Real Madrid on the eve of the Deportivo match, which will be played in the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday (6pm CET). Ancelotti called up Real Madrid Castilla's Derik, Medrán and Alfonso Herrero for the session, while Ramos, Khedira, James, Modric and Coentrão continued with their recovery work.

With Casillas, Keylor Navas, Pacheco and Alfonso Herrero working separately, the outfield players at Ancelotti's disposal performed warm-up and muscle-strengthening exercises before moving on to ball work, which consisted of one and two-touch possession drills to practice quick passing.

Benzema: "I don't play to look good in front of the cameras"

HE SAYS HE HAS A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH FANS

Karim Benzema was direct and forthright in responding to criticism about his football when he spoke with Surface Magazine recently.

"I take criticism into account if it comes from someone that has played football at the top level, but if it comes from someone that hasn't played football then I don't take it seriously. All that matters is goals. As a striker, if you're a terrible player but you score, then nobody will criticise you".

He feels wanted at Madrid: "I'm not an actor. I don't play to look good in front of the cameras. There are people that do that. I like to laugh in life, and I get on with everyone. There are those that say that the public doesn't like me, but when people see me in the street, whether they are old, young, women, children, they are always very friendly with me". [MARCA]

The long road to Berlin

REAL MADRID HAVE 22 MORE HURDLES AHEAD

Afterlosing to Atlético back in September at the beginning of the season, Real Madrid broke records by going on to win 22 games in a row. Coincidently, that's exactly the number of matches that Los Blancos must play if they are to reach the final of the Champions League in Berlin.

No other team in Europe or Spain has ever managed to achieve such a long winning streak. Real Madrid were only two wins shy of the Guinness world record, currently held by Brazilian side Coritiba, and beat Rijkaard's Barça by four victories.

Now the team has to start again from scratch, with the same doubts as before, or more. They had lost two games in a row, against Real Sociedad in Anoeta and then at home to Atlético Madrid in the derby, but neither result rocked the foundations quite like the last defeat to their closest neighbours, on account of the poor image Real Madrid gave.

However, it just so happens that in the wake of this painful defeat there are exactly 22 games separating them and the Champions League final on 6th June in Berlin. If they were to win every match left to play, they would clinch La Liga and reach the all-important final. Were they then to win in Berlin, this would mean victory number 23.

Of the 22 matches that stand between Real Madrid and the 'Doblete' (league and Champions League), 16 are in La Liga and six in the Champions League, which has three more rounds left to play.

Given what has happened in similar circumstances, there are sufficient precedents in Real Madrid's history to suggest that the team will bounce back again.

Carlo Ancelotti: "We are going to bounce back and be competitive"

Ancelotti: “We are going to bounce back and be competitive” | Real Madrid CF

-"The upcoming week is going to be hugely important with the matches against Deportivo, Schalke and Elche"

-"Lucas Silva won't start but there is a chance he'll get a run out. He has come on a lot in terms of fitness and is ready to play.

-Illarra and Kroos will start. There won't be a change between the sticks.

- I can replace Carvajal with Arbeloa and Khedira with Illarra".

-The Atlético match was terrible, but that kind of thing can happen when you go on a run like we did. We have dipped a bit but we still have time to bounce back. I have faith that that will happen

-Time and time again the players in this squad have proved their professionalism, winning frequently and showing their commitment for this jersey.

-"Following the end of 2014, when we won the Club World Cup, we dropped in terms of intensity, attitude and concentration. I don't know if that is usual but that is what happened. Now we have to focus on our work and our objective.

-Perez? "He came and spoke with me and the players, but he was positive the whole time and expressed his concerns about the recent results.

-Odegaard? "He is a huge talent and has a lot of character. He will train with us sometimes and with Real Madrid Castilla other times.

Miranda: We may have won the derby in a convincing way, but Real Madrid is still the biggest favorite to win La Liga.

There will be a group of Real Madrid fans tomorrow at the Bernabeu during the match to chant against Cristiano Ronaldo for celebrating his birthday after the humiliation from Atletico.
Looks like celebrating your 30th birthday is a crime. We should move on

Khedira: " Bummer! This season injuries keep me busy. Last week I suffered a vertical tear in a ligament of my left legs biceps. It is great to get the professional support from the medical staff of Real Madrid and the "magic hands" of Klaus Eder, the head physio therapist of the German national team. He has helped me with his sport osteopathie throughout my career. ‪#‎halamadrid‬ ‪#‎dfb‬ "
