MEDICAL REPORT | 03/12/2014

Following the medical tests carried out on Sami Khedira by the Real Madrid doctors in the Sanitas La Moraleja hospital, the player has been diagnosed with a concussion. He will remain under observation over night. Pending a medical evaluation.

We played a serious match, were focused and won well, showing our quality, exactly what we had asked for before the game

We are happy that the run is still alive and we will work to keep it going as long as we can

Jese was great. He needs to get used to playing but he's started well and showed a great attitude and scored

Khedira got a knock to the head but he is fine. He will spend the night in the hospital and will get better.

We finished the game with six youth academy players on the pitch. That is great for the club. Zidane is doing great work. He is very charismatic and the players listen to him​

How the title was won against Olimpia de Asunción in 2002.

Real Madrid capped things off on the Centenary year by winning the third Intercontinental Cup in the club's history. Goals by Ronaldo and Guti sealed the Whites win over Paraguay's Olimpia de Asunción. The two goals also secured the Whites' third title of 2002 following the European Cup and European Super Cup wins.

A quick bit of play from Ronaldo in the box soon got the game underway. The Brazilian's control and strike made it 1-0 and helped ensure that he finished the game as the man of the match. After a period of both sides creating chances, the Whites' superiority began to control the second half. Guti, with a headed finish in the dying minutes, sealed the victory in the Japanese stadium.
