[h=1]Recently-launched Machakos County Road In Sorry State[/h]

The model tarmac road recently unveiled by the Machakos county government from Makutano-Kithimani is two weeks down the line in a sorry state. Some sections of the road have now developed potholes less than two weeks after the model road was commissioned by governor Dr. Alfred Mutua. This as the spotlight continues to shine on the county over allegations of misappropriation of funds with Chama Cha Uzalendo party leader Wavinya Ndeti claiming the Machakos governor was more focused on sugar coating projects than the quality of the work done.

This was a very shoddy work. Three weeks and the road is giving way already, I expected more from him, he should have taken his time and look for competent contractors. Now this road may prove to be his biggest blunder, and people like Muthama are laughing themselves horse now. Mutua has shown to be very visionary but he should tread careful as they are so many detractors waiting on the wings for any mistake from him and will jump on it immediately. I hope he sort this mess in the fastest way possible.

This is what we here in Kenya call 'The Vuvuzela Governor'...too much flair no substance!

He better fix this otherwise these guys will fry him, ever since he snubbed ODM rallies, wolves have been all over the net painting him tirelessly.

Let truth be told. We have been one of Mutua's biggest supporters. This blog has in several occasions labelled him the only working governor. Rightly so, because he has done some good work in Machakos, and definitely more than any governor. However, we will not fail to point out his failures, especially when hundreds of millions are involved. Last week we published photos of the new 33 km road built in 3 months. We were called names and accused of being ‘haters'. Thank you very much. NAIROBI WIRE.

Today we return with more photos. Some Kenyans went on a fact finding road trip and what we've been publishing is just and understatement of the real picture. Facts vs PR, choose what you want. The road is substandard, and has already started falling apart. The markings were not done everywhere, but the surprising thing is that even where they were made, they've started peeling off… I don't think you can get lower than that.

Here are photos.

Kamanda, hapa mvua ikishenyesha nijuavyo mimi, basi hii barabara yote nd'o kwishnei!..Kwa hili jamaa kachemsha!

Mutua's intentions were excellent, to get things done and delivered fast, but the rogue Kenyan contractors will always have their old skin with them. I think he needs to slow down and exercise caution on every project. Examine every output and outcome diligently.

I have been called names elsewhere for appearing not to celebrate mutua's achievements on this but i believe this was a very shoddy job, what i have yet to find out however is whether this is something that affects the works of one of the contractors ar all the eleven of them; maybe giving out a contract to so many contractors is not a brilliant idea after all. I must however congratulate mutua for tarmacking it, better shoddy than that money ending in peoples pockets.

huyo contractor ingekuwa ni tz,would've encountered the superiority of dr.john pombe magufuri-an intolerant minister overseeing the ministry of infrastructure .poleni wakenya poleni watu wa machakos.
