If you have installed window XP on different partition or replaced the old window with new installation. Due to that you might have multiple entries for booting during startup representing those multiple windows. With the presence of multiple entries the computer cannot open the window directly at startup unless one entry is chosen.
Below are the methods that you can use to remove multiple booting entries, you can remove the entries you don’t want and keep one representing the operating system you want to use ;
1st method:
Right-click on “My Computer” and choose “Properties” from the context menu. The System Properties dialog box will open. In the section “Startup and Recovery” click the button “Settings“. To delete the unwanted operating system from the boot display menu, use the “Edit” button on the right of the entry.
