BRAC is looking for new members to join its East Africa Research and Evaluation Unit (REU), which is an in-house but independent facility supporting BRACs existing development programmes. The primary responsibility of this Unit is to generate knowledge on the relevance and effectiveness of BRACs operations in East Africa i.e. Uganda, Tanzania, and South Sudan. The vision for this Unit is to go beyond evaluation of BRAC programmes and make significant contributions in the national development agenda through rigorous, relevant and well communicated knowledge.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Conduct research project(s) in consultation with supervisor
- Design questionnaires
- Facilitate training of enumerators
- Facilitate data collection
- Clean and analyze data
- Write reports
- Conduct field visits to pilot questionnaires, collect data, learn about programmes, initiate new studies and generate research ideas
- Any other task, as given by supervisor
Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Development Studies, Agricultural Economics, Economics, Business Studies, Anthropology, etc.)
- High academic performance evidenced in GPA score
- Research experience
- Excellent command of English, both written and oral
- Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities
- Knowledge of statistics and STATA is not required, but an asset
- High attention to detail
- Strong team player
- Takes initiative and demonstrates strong sense of responsibility
- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform well under pressure
- Willingness to travel frequently within the country, as required by work assignments
