I am well aware about the story of change in 2024 which has tailored my enthusiasm to write this story focused on cultivating our own development. This tittle seeks to leverage the idea of self-determined development in a unity progress towards our self-directed future. I appreciate this opportunity to add my personal voice in regard to our story of change.
This is a story about a radical change in defining our development and gradual improvement in social, economic, and political aspects within next five (5) to twenty five (25) years to come. For more than a decade, I have not only witnessed but also I have been an active part in experiencing the challenges that face majority of Tanzanians. It is a reminder that we need to invest in ourselves and our own development before we can make a real difference in the world. Now it is the time to recognize the change and understand the strategies on how to mitigate these developmental challenges.

It is a reminder that we need to invest in ourselves and our own development before we can make a real difference in the world. Now it is the time to recognize the change and understand the strategies on how to mitigate these developmental challenges.
Challenges facing majority of Tanzanians that need to be addressed.
Educational sector
One of the earliest obstacles a child might face is a challenge of trying to learn and read in a language they do not even understand. Despite the fact that the literacy rate in Tanzania has increase to 80.27% of adult population (aged 15 years and above), there is still the population about 7,631,110 adults are illiterate, for me this matters and that’s why perhaps even more heart breaking than the fact that even if they are not my children.
Health sector
The issue of health has always been and remains one of the most important in the life of every person. You can have a lot of money, opportunities materials benefits and high social status, but if you don’t have the physical, mental, and social well-being (good health), then all this does not bring a sufficient level of joy and happiness. The accessibility of Tanzania’s health service has been challenged with inadequate fund, shortage of fully trained health staff in the hospitals, poor communication and transport infrastructure. Also, it was recorded that, about 45% of the population were living within 1 km of a health facility, 93% within 10 km and 72% within 5km.
Agricultural sector
With most of Tanzanian’s population living in rural areas, there is a heavy dependency on rain-fed agriculture, where 76% of Tanzanian’s rely on agriculture for their livelihood. The reliance on agriculture leaves Tanzanian’s especially susceptible to economic shocks due to climate change. We have a problem with Agro technology most of youth run away from Agriculture by the experience observed from their own ancestors who have been farmers for decades and still in absolute poverty. Therefore, something has to be done to make agriculture more preferable, easy, and valuable to all Tanzanian’s so as they can minimize vulnerability to poverty and hunger.
Choices and Decisions to be made to address these challenges.
Improve and strengthen education and training systems,
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) should make the strategies in reforming the education curriculum in line with labor market demand as well as technical commitment to making all children literate by ensuring effective literacy instructions by supporting teachers, providing quality and age- appropriate books, teaching children first in the language they speak and understand best, and fostering children oral language abilities.
Robotics in Agriculture
Integrating robotics into agriculture is potential to substitute human operators resulting in heightened efficiency, enhanced productivity, and contribute high speed agricultural processes. For example the use of modular agrochemical sprayer will minimize some health risks associated with agrochemicals during spraying of fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides.

Improving Health Care Facilities
One of the major strategies to be implemented by the government in health care services is to ensure every children should have access to get the early vaccinations such as polio so as they can have a better foundation of the healthy life. There should be also a state- supported nutrition program for pregnant and new mothers. There should be also some health care Apps such as free (AFYA APPS) that will be used to spread health information to all citizens and ensure access of alert information and new updates, as far as health is concerned.
Impacts of the implemented choices
Robotics in agriculture have potential and great impact in economic, political, and environment aspects. The adoption of robotics and automation systems in field crop production has potential to save costs through expense reduction. Robotics can perform tasks like planting, weeding, and harvesting more efficiently. This can result in lower labor cost and increased productivity, and also it will encourage the youth involvement in agriculture sector as it will require minimal effort than before. Also the robotics have potential to significantly improve the environment by ensuring accuracy use of fertilizers and pesticides while increasing yields.
Teaching children first in the language they speak and understand best, will enable in facilitating learning process as it helps students develop an awareness of the skills and strategies they need to complete learning tasks successfully and to communicate themselves as leaners. Also it will be easier for students to adopt from primary to secondary education.
Access to health care services and state- supported nutrition program for pregnant and new mothers will help to reduce the neonatal mortality rate and infant mortality rate
Bottom Line
There are some challenges of adoption of these new strategies such as difficult in utilization of robotics in agriculture because it is still infancy. Also there are rising worries about the replacement of human employment with robotics that will increase unemployment rate, but there are some employment opportunity that will come from adoption in robotics.
