Here are some of the weirdest project launches Kenyans have seen by their elected representatives.


1. DStv Commissioning – In March 2015 Gideon Mwiti MP Central Imenti decided to officially commission a DStv installation complete with a plaque during a fundraiser in his constituency.

2. Foot bridge – May 2014 Governor Joseph Ndathi opened a footbridge at Ngucui while accompanied by two other local leaders

3. Cattle dip – Isaac Ruto, the Governor Bomet reportedly made a trip upcountry to officially launch a cattle dip. The whole project, as we learnt cost, a meagre KSh 5,000. The governor reportedly travelled to the venue on a helicopter.

4. Mud Houses – Vihiga County Governor Moses Akaranga officially opened mud houses in his constituency complete with a ribbon for him to cut.

5. Electricity Transformer – Maara south Member of Parliament was recently sported launching an electricity transformer in his constituency.

6. Gate – Nairobi Governor walked across the road from his office at City hall to launch the new KICC gate and thereafter addressed a press conference.

7. Toilets – Kenyans were shocked to see President Uhuru Kenyatta launch public toilets in Machakos.
