Just of recent before and when Mr Obama paid a visit in Tanzania, Kenyan frenzy media insinuated if not engineered the "Turning East" plot, policies from nowhere may be from Thika if not Gikombo then Mt Kenya. Non researched, Uhuruto government; slippery on every tree that tries to climb blatantly gulped on them to cover their shamed faces from being ignored by Obama, immediately announced a trip to Russia and China only to end up being not true since the representatives of those two countries openly rebuked any arrangement of those two official visits by Uhuru. What a public stunt from GOK officials?

As if the signs of unwanted by international community were not seen or trying so hard to fit in Tanzania's shinning star or lets say testing waters of Tanzania diplomatic prowess of early 1960s, 70s to 80s. The Jubilee government forged an informal quick trip (though announced official) to these two countries just to demonstrate that Kenya is official leaning East on policies probably trying to imitate the famous Nyerere's Mao visit when the country turned his back away from the UK and West allies.

Unfortunately, things are not the same and their plot is crumbling fast, uncharacteristically of state official visit and unannounced prior, Uhuru ended up visiting the Moscow's IAAF games posing for a picture with Kenyans athletes and offering a dinner with them while buying time to know whether he will have a chance to meet Putin for what was meant to be a state's official visit.

And at last disgraced he ended up having a meeting with local business persons from a local business council! I call it local cause those mega rich Russian billionaires were not in attendance and out of the fact the reception of the CORD's Governors' trip to the US was more galant than Uhuru's to question who is superior and in charge in Kenya to be accorded a treatment reserved for a head of state at foreign land . What a snub from a president a country that is known to brag of her prominence at World stage?

To make matters worse the Kenyan media is trying so hard to hide the truth of what is happening to their president on his tour branded
"Turning East" of course only till when "East turned West" on Kenya proving irrelevance of this sturbornly bragging nation when it comes to seeking glorification. What a shame... Bwahahaahahhhh

Trying to see whether Xi Jinping will meet Uhuru and his entourage or the treatment will remain the same! So far Mr Uhuru had been snubbed at home (By Obama) and away (By Putin). A record set by any African leader so far cause even Mugabe is very smart to know the no go zones for his nose! what a diplomatic mess by a seating Government that proves to be in total shambles. As a challenge ahead, the GOK should at least try to smell the coffee to know what is out there in the International coffers for them to gather before the title "Mr snubbed" becomes catchy on Uhuru's Presidency.

Waiting for Uhuruto ICC trials hearing starting on September 10th

Business leaders from Kenya and China are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding to promote trade between the two countries.
Mr Kiprono Kittony, chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said they will be looking to partner with Chinese firms to attain value addition of products before export.
"This is one of the ways of achieving trade balance that is currently hugely in favour of China" said Mr Kittony in a statement.
The delegation of businessmen drawn from the hospitality, banking, finance, mining, transport, building, construction and other sectors will join President Uhuru Kenyatta to execute a major push to woe Chinese investors and carry out negotiations aimed at achieving trade balance with the Asian economic giant.
On Monday, Mr Kittony said: "This tour is critical for our country's business aspirations. We will be looking to partner with Chinese firms to attain value addition of Kenyan products before export."
The official said to address the trade imbalances, Kenya must diversify the number of products its entrepreneurs export to China.
"We will need to create more business linkages with relevant Chinese business enterprises in order to help our people export more," he added.
Mr Kittony challenged Chinese investors to also set up companies in Kenya.
"Chinese business should enter joint ventures with Kenyans or even individually and take advantage of the political stability and the very attractive investment incentives provided by the Kenyan government."
Mr Kittony praised the move by the President Kenyatta to include large business delegations, who are all paying for themselves, in his entourage, saying this will expose Kenyan business people to the many opportunities available in China.
He noted that among the highlights of the President's engagements with the Chinese leadership is the conclusion of discussions on the Standard Gauge Railway line project.
"The proposed Standard Gauge Railway line will be a major boost to our Intra-Africa trade aspirations. I hope the president will wrap this up during state visit to China," he said.
According to Mr Kittony, Kenya is well positioned to be the manufacturing, education, medical, transport hub in the East, Central and the horn of Africa region.
"We must therefore put our acts together and roll out the infrastructure including addressing the high energy if we must exploit the over 200 million people market," he said.

There are NO two snubs. Obama did not go to Kenya. That was not a snub, Kenya was not on the itinerary in the first place. He did not go to 47 other countries in Africa either. Russia is as big a super power as the US. Uhuru would obviously not meet Putin because of the ICC cases as is the case with Obama and maybe several other countries who want to point out Uhuru as a criminal.

The point in my view is that Obama, Putin and all world leaders who do not want to meet with Uhuru are not fair. Uhuru is not his own choice, he is the Kenyan people's choice. He did not elect himself but was chosen by the Kenyan people. Anyone who disrespects Uhuru disrespects all Kenyan people. This guys pretend to be champions of democracy but denounce democracy as has chosen uhuru. Every Kenyan knows what Uhuru did and what he did not do better than America and Russia or the ICC and after they knew all the facts they decided he was the best leader for the country.

I urge Kenyans to shame the world and stand by their leader and if somebody, Obama, Putin do not like it they can go hang. The ICC should also stop harassing a democratically appointed president. Since the Kenyan people have decided to be led by Uhuru, he should be left to do his work and the ICC can go on with him after his term. The people Uhuru is said to have killed (kalenjins) are the same people who overwhelmingly voted for him. The people whom Ruto is said to have killed (kikuyu's) are the same people who elected him. So lets be fair on the issue of Uhuru. Much as I do not like Kenya, I try to be fair. The ICC had a moral duty to inform Kenyans that their elected choice might not be qualified to lead them. I say to ICC, kindly wait for the terms of the Kenyan leaders to end before you start destabilizing the country.

I' am sure you will die of excitement were you to wake up to hear that Uhuru has been thrown behind bars at the ICC and that Kenya has been invaded by the mighty USA. Well, none of these will happen unfortunately so relax.

African countries are now the worlds development engine and thats why all developed countries are courting Africa. Those developed countries have all gone broke and now they have to use Africa to rise again. Only a stupid African president will make himself irrelevant. Look how all world leaders are chasing after Kikwete.

When it comes to ICC am sure they can not do anything to Uhuru or Ruto. Worst case scenario is that they will wait for the leaders to finish their term. Wait for the trials to begin and then the pressure on ICC will begin. African leaders (the relevant ones) will unite with Kenyan people to force the ICC to either postpone the trials or move them to East Africa. The cold war has already started again and am sure on ICC China and Russia will soon take their positions. When the west realizes that they may loose Africa to the east you will see how they change colour like a chameleon.

chash,

The ICC's office of the prosecutor has been put in very funny situation where bensouda has to 'appeal' meaning the decision comes from the top just like uhuru and ruto have to appeal to the courts to skip sessions. Don't you think that in itself makes it difficult for the icc 'to do anything they want' with uhuruto?

Plus what are kikwetes chances given that he is the first make that daring move to successfully shift west, to dissasociate from the normal 'permanent friends' china and russia.

The ICC has no time to waste and they cannot wait for uhuruto term to end. How the picture will unfold at the end will depend on how kenyans maintain their unity' and the uzalendo kwa taifa. but as long as there are loose cannons in the name of politicians destabilizing kenya, it makes it a mouth watering prospect for the ICC OTP to find a chance to increase tons of evidence to back their allegations. This, unfortunately happens at a time that there are also deaths by egyptian military since the ouster of democratically elected morsi to hit the 1000 mark..suggesting the office of the prosecutor's desk has enough jobs in the coming days.

International community's foreign policy is not driven ideologically as somebody said earlier perhaps a reason why when people are killed by the military and government forces in Egypt, it is termed restoring democracy and peace.

on one hand criticizing mugabe of lacking democracy and clamping down on opposition supporters and on the other hand supporting hundreds of egyptian manslaughter. I remember during the post election violence the CNN had camped in nairobi and had ordered and rented three floors in a certain building in town because they believed that 'kenya was burning' beyond recovery.......unfortunately, the news agency immediately packed and left after the setting of Coalition government.

You have to look closely at the history of kenya, because its commitment to russia has been just on trade. Plus we now know amidst the hullabaloo of the ICC and the 'snub' who the real losers are going to be...judging most former tz presidents like Mkapa going down had their engagements closley centered within the african continent. will this go down well with most people in TZ and is it ready for ready for the sudden change.
