Okwi aje maana Bongo kazoeleka. Mwaka sasa anatimiza miaka 26

Karibu Mwamba toka ligi kuu ya Misri

Sema kaomba kuachwa kwa sababu hachezi

Serunkuma mpya huyu.

Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga together with a colleague from Gabon Mario Bernard find themselves in a similar situation with their employer Tanta FC in the Egyptian Premier League.

Lwanga signed for Tanta on the three-year deal in August after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and he has since made 11 appearances across all competitions and provided one assist in his only season in Egypt.

However, the player has not received a salary for seven months now which contravenes the FIFA regulations on the status and transfer of players.

The June 2020 edition states that; “In the case of a club unlawfully failing to pay a player at least two monthly salaries on their due dates, the player will be deemed to have a just cause to terminate his contract.”

The article adds: “Provided that he has put the debtor club in default in writing and has granted a deadline of at least 15 days for the debtor club to fully comply with its financial obligation(s).”

“Alternative provisions in contracts existing at the time of this provision coming into force may be considered.”

Football256 understands that earlier reports of Tanta FC releasing Lwanga are actually false since the player filed for a termination of his contract with the club after the latter failed to meet their part of the bargain.

At the start of July 2020, Lwanga’s representatives Yelo Management wrote to Tanta requesting for an amicable termination of his contract and payment of salaries for close to seven months and sign-on bonus which was meant to be paid in January 2020.

This website has established that Lwanga has indeed not been paid since January and he was expected to return to training ahead of the league resumption in August something his representatives don’t approve.

Yelo Management argues that their client cannot resume training without money to help him survive and take care of his needs but also cater for his family which is miles away from him in Uganda.

“You can’t leave in a foreign country without pay, it is very dangerous,” Saddam Migadde a Ugandan working in Egypt told this reporter from his Egyptian base.

“You have to feed, you have to move, you have to look after yourself and yet the cost of living is high yet your boss expects you to report to work every day and give 100%, Where is the motivation?”

“And it’s worse if you have a family to looks after either with you here or back home in Uganda if you are not getting paid it is very hard,” Migadde added.

Lwanga is not the only Uganda footballer in Egypt finding himself in a similar situation, compatriot Khalid Aucho has gone close to seven months without pay at Misr lel Makkasa and is on the verge of terminating his contract.

In Morocco, striker Joel Madondo went months without pay at Wydad Casablanca and was also overlooked as their side returned for training, at the moment he is in the process of also terminating his contract after the club rendered him a liability and not an asset to the club
