Socrates (469 – 399 B.C.)believed in two types of knowledge: important and small. He acknowledged that most of us know many trivial things. For example, a craftsman practices of his craftsmanship, that being only important to himself. However, the most important knowledge according to him is how best to live. Here he refers to matters regarding ethics and morals.
How can a civil engineer being well equipped in his field and perform well in his task if he is morally corrupted? How civil servants can perform well their duty if they are bankrupt morally? We are not able to develop as we should because we focus much on trivial things, less in ethics and morals (vital knowledge according to Socrates). Make a change in your life so others may imitate you for the betterment of our nation!
