Russian Guardsmen destroy Ukrainian UAV team in Chernigov Region

MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. The Russian National Guard’s commandos destroyed a Ukrainian UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) team in the Chernigov Region in northern Ukraine, the Guard’s press office told TASS on Saturday.

"The personnel of the Russian National Guard’s special operations unit accomplishing objectives on the territory of border districts of the Bryansk Region destroy uncovered equipment and manpower shelters of Ukrainian nationalists. In particular, during a reconnaissance raid jointly with the Border Guard Department of the FSB [Federal Security Service] of Russia for the Bryansk Region, an enemy UAV team was spotted in a forest belt in the Chernigov Region," the press office said in a statement.

The Russian National Guard’s FPV drone operators delivered an instant aimed strike at the Ukrainian UAV team and the dugout where the enemy was hiding, it said.

"Images transmitted live from a drone confirmed the destruction of the enemy team and the cessation of the activities of Ukrainian militants in that area," the press office said.

Andrey Marochko noted that over the year the Russian army did not just manage to withstand the onslaught of the Ukrainian armed forces and mercenaries, but also "successfully advanced" deep into the enemy’s defense

LUGANSK, December 28. /TASS/. Russian servicemen have repelled almost 2,000 Ukrainian counterattacks in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), inflicting nearly 400,000 casualties on the Ukrainian armed forces, Andrey Marochko, a military expert, told TASS.

"Kiev’s military and political situation can be described as tense and has a tendency toward deterioration. For Russia, the situation is improving: the tide of the special military operation was significantly shifted in 2024. The enemy is currently engaged in attempting to hold positions, but Ukraine’s armed forces have suffered a number of defeats. <…> Ukrainian armed formations have carried out nearly 2,000 assaults on our defensive positions in the LPR responsibility zone over the year. <…> The Ukrainian losses in lives throughout the reporting period have amounted to over 400,000 soldiers and mercenaries. The majority of Ukrainian militants in the special military operation area were eliminated in the Donetsk and Kharkov directions," he said.
 
Admiral Rob Baier, chairman of NATO’s Military Committee, said that strikes on Russian targets using ATACMS missiles seriously damaged several weapons factories and ammunition depots in Russia. He added that this forced Russia to move many logistical facilities as far from the front as possible.

Ukrainian troops attempt unsuccessful counterattack in DPR — republic’s head.

DONETSK, December 29. /TASS/. Ukrainian units attempted several unsuccessful counterattacks near Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), regional head Denis Pushilin said.

"We see that a number of populated locations have been liberated, the encirclement of Krasnoarmeysk is underway, I would say. The adversary attempted a counterattack with several of these attempts resulting in enemy losses. The situation was localized by our side," he said in a video address published on his Telegram channel.

Additionally, according to Pushilin, Russian forces are successfully advancing in the Velikaya Novoselka area.

Ukraine Lost Up to 400 Troops in Russia's Kursk Region in Past Day

MOSCOW- Ukraine has lost up to 400 troops in its offensive
against the western Russian region of Kursk in the past day, the Russian Defense ministry said.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian armed forces lost up to 400 troops, three tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, one armored fighting vehicle, 14 motor vehicles, four artillery systems, one mortar, 13 FPV drone teams and one air defense radar," the ministry said in a daily bulletin.
This brings Ukraine's total losses in Kursk region since August up to more than 45,220. Russian troops repelled three counterattacks mounted by Ukrainian forces along the Kursk border in the past day, inflicting losses on enemy manpower and hardware in 11 border settlements as well as in Sumy region.
 
Russian Troops Liberate Novotroitskoye in Donetsk People's Republic

MOSCOW, (Sputnik) - Russia’s Tsentr group of forces has taken control of the village of Novotroitskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"As a result of successful offensive operations, units of the Central group of forces have liberated the settlement of Novotroitskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic," the statement read.
Ukraine has lost up to 1,400 soldiers in battles with Russian forces over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
