Top German military official sees Russia as having upper hand in Ukraine conflict

BERLIN, February 4. /TASS/. Carsten Breuer, inspector general of the Bundeswehr (German army), has admitted that Russia has an edge in the Ukrainian conflict.

"What I am observing in Ukraine, from a military point of view, is that Russia has the advantage. This is no revelation," Breuer told RTL and NTV channels, replying to a question about the prospects of US President Donald Trump putting an end to the conflict in Ukraine some time soon.

Recently, the Ukrainian military leadership has been talking increasingly more about the difficult strategic situation Ukrainian troops are facing in the combat zone. The Ukrainian army is encountering shortages in personnel which authorities are trying to compensate for in vain by boosting mobilization and transferring specialists from technologically advanced units, for instance, air defense forces, to assault brigades. Desertion, sometimes of a mass nature, has become a separate issue. That said, the Kiev regime is trying to pin the blame for Ukrainian failures on its Western partners, accusing them of delayed and insufficient arms supplies.
 
On February 3, Ukraine's Air Force launched a high-precision strike on a Russian command post near Novoivanivka, Kursk region.
 

Russian drone attack damages homes and railway depot in Ukraine​


KYIV, Feb 4 (Reuters) - Ukraine's military said on Tuesday that it shot down 37 out of 65 Russian drones overnight in an attack that damaged businesses, a railway depot and homes around the nation.

Ukraine's state railways Ukrzaliznytsia said Russia attacked a depot in Dnipropetrovsk region, causing significant damage to infrastructure and premises.

⚡Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday called on US companies to invest into his country’s rare earths after Donald Trump said he wanted a deal with Kyiv which involved getting the minerals in exchange for aid.

“I would like US business… to develop this field here,” Zelensky said, according to comments published by his office. “We are open to the fact that all this can be developed with our partners, who are both helping us to protect our land and pushing the enemy back with their weapons, and sanctions packages — and this is absolutely fair.”
