Duties and Responsibilities
- Checking and correcting editorial copy allocated by Sports Editor for facts, accuracy, taste, compliance with TGL house style, language use, clarity, details, objectivity, spelling.
- Rewriting the copy as necessary for simplicity, clarity and compliance with the newspaper’s house style.
- Editing photos/illustrations selected by Sports Editor to fit allocated space and writing/rewriting captions taking care not to give obvious details.
- Bachelor’s Degree in journalism
- At least four years’ experience in journalism, in part as sub editor
- Mastery of English and Kiswahili
- Knowledge of any other language will be an added advantage
