TANESCO to Spend $1.48 Billion to Boost Service

Tanzania Electric Supply Co. Ltd. will spend 1.95 trillion shillings ($1.48 billion) in the next five years to boost power supply in the East African country, the company said.

The Tanzanian government will contribute 289.6 billion shillings towards the program, the Millennium Challenge Corp. 280 billion shillings and the World Bank 243.4 billion shillings, while the utility will spend 652 billion shillings of its own funds, Tanesco said in a report given to Bloomberg News today in the commercial capital, Dar es Salaam
