Tanzania again has done it

When you say 'one of the first', I suppose the actual first was in Kenya?
Hamna hiyo machine in East Central and Southern Africa, ukiacha SA.

Tumia Google uwacha kukaa mjinga.

We have several Linac Machines in Kenya. At KNH, MTRH, and even the private Texas Cancer Centre.
This is a cheaper machine that costs just $2.5 million.

Aga Khan Nairobi on the other hand is the only one in the region with a PET machine, which costs over $6 million.

Lete ushahidi acha kupiga kelele, hapo Kenyatta Hospital 60% ya ultrasounds zimeharibika hazijatengezwa, vipi mtaweza kununua machine kama hizi?. Mtabaki kupiga kelele lakini kamwe Government hospitals haziwezi kupata hizi machine in near future.

Link 2 - AKUHN PET CT and Cyclotron

Link 3 - New cancer machine to take more patients

Here in Kenya we acquire machines without fanfare.
Go read about the managed equipment leasing programme by GOK.
It might have started controversially, but right now 2 hospitals per county each have dialysis kits, modern thearter facilities, ICU equipment, ultrasound, X-Ray and other imaging equipment.

Huko Tanzania, anyone requiring a dialysis must rush to Dar is slum.

And not just that, Kenya has like 10 times the number of oncologist Tanzania has.
Tanzania is behind not only in equipment, but also in qualified professionals.

Keep dreaming. You are boasting of machines Kenya bought in 2008.

For you info, a Linac machine costs just $2 million.
A country of 60 million is boasting of having two of them yet they applaud their supremo when he buys $250 million dreamliners.

Wewe acha kujidanganya Tanzania is far ahead in medical care, you are talking about renal dialysis, we have that Service in at least Six regions Hospitals so far and more centers to be opened soon.

Tanzania we have big three Hospitals were renal transplant is a routine procedure, Muhimbili, Bugando in Mwanza and Benjamin Mkapa Hospital in Dodoma, and Mloganzila ultra modern Hospital is to start Operations soon. Tell me in Kenya outside Nairobi where renal transplant is done?

Tanzania has the biggest and ultramodern state of art cardiac institute of it's kind which is currently operate 1000 cardiac patients per year. Tell me how many cardiac patients do you operate per year.

Juzi juzi nimesema elimu mbovu ni kitu mbaya sana kwa nchi. Yani mkifanya kitu ambacho kwa nchi zengine ni cha kawaida mnajiona kama Albert Einstein. Mungu wasamehe wasiojua.

Wacha nirudie Jambo moja - ukiona kitu Tanzania, jua Kenya kipo. Usije ukashoboka bure. BRT pekee ndio kitu mmetutangulia.

We have it in every county under the managed equipment programme. 47 hospitals at least.

I've never heard of any Kenyan coming to Tanzania for specialized treatment. But Nairobi hospitals are full of Tanzanians and Ugandans. Especially your politicians.

Kenya population - 50 million
Tanzania population - 60 million

Kenya's health budget 2018 (national government) - Ksh 60 billion
Tanzania health budget 2018 - Ksh 40 billion

Case closed. You are LDC and will always trail Kenya in everything. The machines you hear in your media are being bought arrived in Kenya years ago with little fanfare.

How Much Of Kenya’s Budget Is Going Towards The Health Sector?
Tanzania: Govt Lowers Health Budget By 19% Amid Missed Targets

Shida kubwa nadhani kwa sababu hawaelewi Kingereza.

I told them the other day that 70% of the internet is written in English (90% in Africa), and they are missing out on a lot of knowledge.

Leo hii nimejaribu kuambia joto la jiwe a Google for some information, lakini wapi. Kumbe ata akiGoogle hataelewa chenye anasoma.
Ndio maana wakiskia kitu kimenunuliwa Tanzania, hawawezi kwanza dhibitisha kwa mtandao kama Kenya kunacho. Wanakimbia hapa kuandika 'first in East Africa'.

Cancer patients cross into TZ for treatment
Kenyans are coming to Tanzania daily for medical care, Tanzania is far ahead of Kenya and Kenya can't match in any way.

Sawa mkuu. Wewe mwenyewe ndiye utajitoa kwa hio denial, kwa muda wako mwenyewe.

The factual truth is that Kenya is not where it should be in healthcare services, but at the same time has no peers in East Africa.
That's why when your politicians are shot 20 times, their first stop is Nairobi.
When Besigye is assaulted by Museveni, his first stop is Nairobi.
When 400 cancer patients in Uganda are at risk, Nairobi comes to the rescue.

That's the reason you bongolalas have to report on a Kenyan forum every machine you've bought, thinking you've finally overtaken us.

You received one Lisu because of his own safety reasons you are yapping, we receive thousand of Kenyans into our government hospitals yearly, when your doctors went on strike last year where did your government go to ask for doctors?. Tanzania is a big brother in EAC

What does a strike have to do with better health care services? You truly are retarded.
In any case, if your doctors came here, they would have been earning triple the salary.

Fact 1: Kenya has a smaller population and a higher health budget than Tanzania.
Fact 2: Kenya has at least 4 Linac machines. Tanzania has 0.
Fact 3: Kenya has 1 PET machine. Tanzania has 0.
Fact 4: Lowest paid Kenyan doctor earns $1500. Lowest paid Tanzanian doctor earns $500.
Fact 5: KNH, Aga Khan Nairobi, Nairobi hospital etc. have been overloaded by Tanzanians and Ugandans. Aga Khan even has a dedicated service for 'foreigners'.
Fact 6: Kenya has a better doctor to population ratio than Tanzania.

To be honest, I don't even know what the debate is about. There is not a single aspect or statistic that you're ahead of Kenya. Arguing the whole day won't change that.

Here's another one I had missed. Aga Khan Nairobi also has a Linac machine.

Yeah hii Linear accelerator ilikuja home mwaka wa 2016, halafu ile ya PET ilikuja Dec.πŸ™‚
I think it's good progress for both KE & TZ.

1.Tanzania has the biggest Specialized cardiac Hospital in the region.
2.Tanzania has the biggest cancer institute in the region, all treatments are free of charge, Kenya charges money for cancer treatment
3. Tanzania has the modern and most sophisticated teaching Hospital of it's kind in East and central Africa, Mloganzila teaching Hospital
4.Three public Hospitals perform kidney transplant, Kenya only two Hospitals
5.Tanzania produces 1000 doctors per year, Kenya only 700 per year.
6. Government Hospitals are better equipped than private Hospitals in Tanzania, many Tanzanians can access medical care, in Kenya private Hospitals are the ones which are well equipment, majority of Kenyans can't afford.
7.Tanzania is the only country in the region which doesn't refer cardiac patients to abroad, instead it receives from neighboring countries including Kenya

1.Tanzania has the biggest Specialized cardiac Hospital in the region.
Which one is that and does it beat Aga Khan Heart and Cancer Centre?
Enda usome hapa - Heart & Cancer Centre

Then tell me what is offered in your hospital that Aga Khan does not.

2.Tanzania has the biggest cancer institute in the region, all treatments are free of charge, Kenya charges money for cancer treatment

Aga Khan Heart and Cancer centre is the biggest in the region. If you have evidence to the contrary, bring it.
And in which hospital is cancer treatment free? Bring the link.

3. Tanzania has the modern and most sophisticated teaching Hospital of it's kind in East and central Africa, Mloganzila teaching Hospital

That hospital is just a fancy building with nothing inside. Even Moi Teaching and Referal in Eldoret has better equipment.

4.Three public Hospitals perform kidney transplant, Kenya only two Hospitals

Kenya has been performing kidney transplants since mid 2000s. I don't know the number of locations, but the volume is more. By virtue of more equipment and more qualified personnel.

5.Tanzania produces 1000 doctors per year, Kenya only 700 per year.
You have zero evidence for this.

According to the World Health organization, the Tanzanian doctor-to-patient ratio stands at 1 doctor for every 20,000 patients. In Kenya, it's 1 doctor for every 16,000. The recommended doctor-patient ratio is one to 300.

Tanzania Doctors to Help Kenya Recover from Health Sector Strike

6. Government Hospitals are better equipped than private Hospitals in Tanzania, many Tanzanians can access medical care, in Kenya private Hospitals are the ones which are well equipment, majority of Kenyans can't afford.

In Kenya private hospitals are better equipped (specialized) than public. But public hospitals are also comparably better equipped than Tanzanian public hospitals. We have over 30 government hospitals in Kenya that would be in your top 10.

7.Tanzania is the only country in the region which doesn't refer cardiac patients to abroad, instead it receives from neighboring countries including Kenya

I've been to, or heard of many medical fundraisers, and never once has a Tanzanian hospital come up.
