Successor to the Railway Corps of the People’s Liberation Army, China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (HKSE: 1186) was established by China Railway Construction Corporation in Nov 2007 and supervised under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC).


The Group is one of the largest integrated construction companies in China with a dual listing in both the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Hong Kong Stock Exchange in Mar 2008. With total assets of RMB553 billion, the Group’s operating businesses cover 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, as well as 69 foreign countries in the world.

Construction operations
The Group’s main business line, focusing primarily on infrastructure construction including railway, energy facilities and municipal projects. Some of the major projects completed include the Hong Kong West Rail, Nigeria Railway Systems and the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Project. In 2013, revenue in construction operations stood at RMB468 billion

Survey, design and consultancy operations
Provides consultancy services on transport infrastructure construction at both the national and provincial levels. Revenue in this segment stood at RMB7.8 billion in 2013.

Manufacturing operations
The Group engages in the R&D, manufacturing, sales, maintenance and repair of large track machinery such as railway switches and rail fasteners. Revenue in this segment accounted for RMB11.8 billion

The recent news on Mexico revoking a US$3.75 billion (RMB23 billion) joint Mexico-China rail deal might have put a large dent to the state-owned corporation’s contract value, however CRCC still has a healthy backlog of outstanding contracts at RMB1.6 billion in 2013, including RMB6.9 billion new contracts during the year.

With China’s large foreign reserves and the financial support of state banks, the potential for overseas construction projects is huge given that other emerging economies such as the South American countries are still looking toward the mainland economy for infrastructure financing.

How sure are you that, the recruited military based civil engineers are not entitled with allowance!??? So far their scope is not limited to that extent

There are engineers in the military, whose skills are required particularly during war.
You may not know that there is a lot of infrastructure building during wartime, both at home and in enemy territory.
When their skills are not being used for military uses, they have other things to do in the barrack. That's their full time job.
 
We r doing exactly what u just said. Now our 57 engineers at SGR Project r updating their skills. Who knows may be Mtwara-Mbababay SGR will be undertaken by a our military construction company!
 

You are really a headache trying to explain simple things to.
Introducing a prime minister position is a simple matter of amending the section that lists the government structure.

In this case, we would be amending Chapter 9 of our Constitution, 'The Executive'. Here we will list the new structure, and go ahead and list the functions of the Prime Minister.
If the functions of the president will be affected, the same changes will be made in this section.
I've even edited that section for you so you can finally understand.



Why are you assuming that amending is just about deleting? There are many examples from many countries. I even gave you an example of USA's 18th amendment, popularly known as 'Prohibition'.

When congress made the amendment to ban alcohol, which part of the constitution did they delete?

Sometimes you make us really wonder about your education system.
A standard 6 pupil here in Kenya knows what amending clauses in the constitution is, and what changing the constitution is.

From a legal jargon point of view, those words mean totally different things.

Before 2010, some places in Kenya had not seen a tarmac road. Some places had to travel hundreds of km to reach a hospital.
That's because the national government concentrated all the resources to where majority of the country lives.

Now, every county irrespective of how far it is from Nairobi, gets allocated a good amount of money.
That's just an economic consequence of the new constitution.

There are more consequences, from political to social. But I would need a whole day.

Also, one major reason for tribalism was the perception that resources were not been allocated fairly. Now, every county gets a fair allocation of the country resources.
Tribalism will not disappear overnight, but the new constitution was a big leap forward.

Since you don't know what people wants, you can say what you want. But introducing a higher position in government which by definition it is not defined in current constitution, some paragraphs in constitution will have to give way and some deleted. For example what will be the roll of vice president in new government assuming the position is still there. Who will be answerable to the parliament when it comes to government business in the Parliament, will the PM be elected or appointed, how do you define the term in office etc... If those things are not in the current constitution, then they will have to be introduce according to the "will of the people". So you can go ahead bringing your stand two amendment thinking is just the matter of squeezing some few words here and there and everything will be fine, there legal implication if any part of constitution is not defined well. And if they go by the level of your understanding, they will be back on the drawing board just like they're doing now.
 

You were expecting a piece of document to solve all our problems? If it were that easy, countries would be creating new constitutions every month.

The constitution is just but a foundation. And things will change gradually.

The main purpose of a constitution is to improve governance. The rule book has been written. Doing away with old habits like corruption will not happen in one week.

But we have already started seeing the benefits of having independent offices. Public officials not being directed by the president.

The day we elect a weak president, we're sure the Judiciary will work. The police service will not stop.
Top public officials being dragged to court through independent processes is a deterrent for other crimes.

We keep doing this and in 50 years Kenya will be unrecognizable.

Tanzania you are still in the stage of 'strong man' instead of 'strong institutions'.
Been there, done that.
 

Congratulations. You have finally defined constitution amendment.

Constitutional amendments are some of the most famous and most studied pieces of legislation world over. You thought they were just 2 lines of words?

This is a long and tedious process, and it is likely we will not even accomplish it in 5 years. Agreeing on what is being amended is first of all the most difficult task.
Followed by the wording of all the clauses or sections to be affected.
