I think most people don't understand how things work.

It is not what you have but what is useful that counts in economics.

If you are poor and live on a land full of gold and you don't have tools to process and refine it, you will die poor;

Having potential is not good enough.

You can't eat or survive on "potential", potential needs to be turned tapped.
