The earliest clear memories of my childhood were tagging along with my father and uncles and seeing them dancing, singing 'Tawala Kenya Tawala' for Moi and shaking their index fingers while shouting, jogoo! I tried reminiscing about that with one of my 'small fathers' some time back and all he could do was shake the same index finger, but at me, as a warning to keep my mouth shut about 'our' little secret.
