Zambia National Women teams dream to qualify for the 2015 Congo Brazzaville all Africa games is in doubt after they lost 4-2 to Tanzania at Nkoloma stadium on Sunday.
After cropping out almost all the entire experienced team that represented Zambia at Namibia womens Africa cup of Nations last year, the She-polopolo were comprised mostly by the under 17 team and struggled to contain the pressure from Tanzania especially in the second half.
Zambia opened the scores in the 43rd minute through Misozi Zulu to end the first half in favour of the home team.
However, in the second half, Tanzania equalized as early as 46th minute through Shelder Boniface who benefited from Zambias goal-minder Hazel Nalis s pillaged on the goal line.
Six minutes later Tanzania took the lead through Mwanahamis Shurwa who was gifted again by Nalis poor goal keeping.
In the 62nd minute Grace Chanda of Zambia equalized but eight minutes later, Tanzania were in command of the game against through Etoe Mlenzi.
Tanzanias Sophia Mwasendi put the score-line beyond Zambias reach as he scored the 4th goal in the 85th minute.
Meanwhile, Tanzania coach Rogasian Kaijage said his side will do everything possible to ensure that Zambia is dumped out of the tournament in the final leg in Tanzania.
KAIJAGE wondered why Zambia did away with the skillful team that eliminated them from the womens AFCON last describing the currentlty She-polopolo as lacking skill and character.
But his counterpart Albert Kachingwe says he is optimistic his girls will qualify for all Africa games.
The match was watched by Sports minister Vincent Mwale, National Sports council of Zambia chairman Mwamba Kalenga, Sports and youth Minister Permanent secretary Agness Musunga and Faz vice President Boniface Mwamelo among others.
The second leg is expected to be played in Tanzania in two weeks time.
