Tanzania To Announce Winner Of Electric Trains Tender Soon
The Tanzania government is set to soon announce the winner of a multi-billion tender for electric trains. This follows the tender issued in December last year by Reli Assets Holding, whereby, more than 40 companies - local and international, expressed in an interest in the supply of various rolling stock items including;

• 14 electric locomotives,
• 3 locomotives for departmental trains
• 15 first class coaches
• 45 economy class coaches
• 2 diesel locomotives,
• 400 flat wagons
• 500 box wagons
• 200 oil tankers
• 50 bulk wagons
• 70 gondola wagons
• 50 ballast hoppers, and
• 50 double stack container wagons.

Of course the market eagerly awaits the next round of tenders which is scheduled to be issued later this month.
