these go hand in hand in the 21st century. You simply cannot push people to innovate if you cant support mass production or manufacture & sell the "innovations, or better yet, create a marketplace structure such as an undisputed ecommerce platform.

Its misleading & absurd & unsustainable.. What do all innovation leaders have in common? a strong online marketplace.. Thats what truly gives birth to true innovation... Not just funding challenges and competitions..
