Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania in the Union of the Comoros, Saidi Yakubu recently welcomed Dr. George Roberts, a Lecturer at Sheffield University and Author of the book "REVOLUTIONARY STATE-MAKING IN DAR ES SALAAM," which delves into the story of African Liberation and the Global Cold War from 1961 to 1974. Dr. Roberts was in Comoro conducting research on MOLINACO, a movement for the Liberation of Comoro that has historical roots in Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam.
Tanzania's contribution to the liberation of Comoro, particularly through its support for the MOLINACO movement, is widely recognized as a significant and pivotal aspect of the region's history. Tanzania's active role in providing assistance and solidarity to the Comoro liberation efforts underscores its commitment to fostering independence and self-determination in the region as it reflects a broader commitment to African liberation movements and the promotion of sovereignty in Africa.
