The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) in extending its effort of promoting usage of ICTs by designated people and also implement WSIS action line 2: “Information and communication infrastructure: an essential foundation for an inclusive information society” and action line 3: “Access to information and knowledge” and Millennium Development Goals, sought to consider donating an ICT pack to girls’ Schools and schools with students with disabilities comprising of:
  1. 10 Computers
  2. 1 Printer
  3. Internet access with one year subscription
  4. School website hosted for 5 years
  5. Access to ICT Club portal accessed by all schools under this initiative, for on-line discussions sharing of teaching materials and e-books
  6. Training program for 1 staff in computer maintenance and user support
  7. Support to set up the computer training room, installation and configuration of the ICT pack and orientation
The ICT pack will be donated to any of the two girl’s schools in two different regions within each of the Authority’s 5 zones and Zanzibar offices; and four schools designated for students with disabilities.
