What makes a curriculum progressive is practical orientation. You can have a great curriculum, but if it falls short of practical orientation, then it relegated to irrelevancy. Basic science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Biology and Mathematics cannot only be taught through classroom lectures and written assessments. A demonstration as to why, where and how they are to apply this knowledge must be an objective of scholarship.
Getting to this point, African states, must harness enormous resources, both financial and human. Otherwise, we'll keep on blaming curricula as outdated, yet we haven't even applied them at desired threshold.
Kanuni za Sheria, Falsafa na Siasa tunazozisoma chuo kikuu ziliandikwa miaka zaidi ya 2000 iliyopita, ila kinachofanya hizi kanuni ziendelee kuwa na umuhimu ni Practical Orientation ambayo iko chuo kikuu. Mwanafunzi anafahamu ni wapi na kivipi azitumie hizo kanuni za kizamani katika mazingira yake ya leo. Nadhani tukilipeka hili walau shule za sekondari tutapiga hatua kubwa.
