Rotana, the leading hotel management company in the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Eastern Europe, stakes its claim on the African hospitality market, with the announcement of its debut project Johari Rotana in the commercial capital of Tanzania, Dar es Salaam. The 254-key property will include 191 luxurious hotel rooms and suites and 63 serviced apartments spread across 24 floors.
The new Johari Rotana property will be part of the landmark MNF Square in Dar es Salaam – a 65,000 square meters mixed-use project composed of the Five-Star Hotel, Class-A Offices, Retail and Parking Facilities. The project is an intelligent building designed to meet green building standards.

Scheduled for Q1 2019 – 171 Rooms

Meliá Hotels International has announced the opening of its third hotel in Tanzania, joining the Meliá Zanzibar and Meliá Serengeti Lodge. The hotel is located in Arusha, a city near Kilimanjaro International Airport and the main starting point for all the routes north to the country's major attractions such as the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro and Arusha National Park and Mount Meru.

Meliá Arusha is scheduled to open in April 2019 as a 5-star luxury resort and gateway to an African adventure in an exceptional natural environment next to a traditional coffee plantation and perfectly integrated with the landscape. It will provide 171 rooms, a swimming pool, different dining spaces (including a rooftop restaurant), a spa, gym and almost 2,000m2 of facilities for events and meetings (including a banquet room).

The addition of these two hotels strengthens the Meliá Hotels International partnership with Albwardy Investment, owner of the properties and a key partner for international growth for Meliá. Thanks to the excellent relationship and trust that exists between the two companies, Meliá also operates other hotels in the United Arab Emirates, Tanzania, United Kingdom and Argentina.

Congrats. After years of boasting of 'Hong Kong Hotel', Dar is slum will get its second 5 star hotel.
Reminds me of Nairobi in the 80s.

Una wazimu wewe.

Wazimu ni wewe.
Hii discussion tulikuwa nayo na tukamaliza.
Nairobi city has over 20 certified 5-star hotels.
Dar has 3 or 4 of them.

Nairobi has almost 10 new 5-star hotels under construction or in advance stages of planning.
Dar has like 3.
