Sure, it will be great to read and have an idea of what it contains. But if the bill is "human DNA bill" then that is the problem before it even becomes a law. I think the DNA bill should give opportunity to other non-human sources of DNA which could have great applications for forensics.

Hata mimi nimeshangaa. Nimeona kwenye kumbukumbu za bunge mswada huo unakuwa referred kama "The Human DNA Bill, 2009".Nilitegemea ungekuwa mpana zaidi. Labda kwa vile unadhaminiwa na Wizara ya Afya na Ustawi wa Jamii.

Tusubiri labda wabunge watagusia mapungufu haya.

Afadhali upitishwe tu maana angalao tutakuwa na sheria za kuwabana wale wababa wanaokataa mimba/watoto na wale akina mama wanaozaa watoto wanawatupa. Ila tu nataka kufahamu wataajiri watumishi waaminifu kiasi gani ili wasipokee rushwa watoe majibu ya uongo hasa kwa wanaume wenye pesa ambao wanataka kukataa watoto purposely au wale wahalifu ambao wamehusika katika uhalifu? Pia mfano issue ya Mahita kumkataa mtoto wa yule house girl wao wakati ukimuona yule mtoto utafikiri Mahita alimtapika maana ni kama scanned picture ya Mahita. Mzee mzima hovyoooo!!! Mahakama iliamuru DNA test ifanyike!!! Sasa sijui Mahita atajiteteaje?? Nitaomba aliye karibu na huyo binti (anayemfahamu) aniunganishe naye ili nimpe shule ya kuomba fidia kwa kudhalilishwa na Mahita ?(akusanye tu zile stories za kwenye magazeti as one of the evidences), nitampatia na kumgharimia kwa mwanasheria makini.

Tanzanian parliament passes DNA bill into law The National Assembly of Tanzania has passed into law the Human DNA Bill 2009 to enable the country to collect, store, transport and test the DNA specimen in the process of identification and other research areas.

The parliament passed the bill in a session held in Dodoma on Wednesday.

With the new law, the DNA application will be supervised and administered by the governmental chief chemist's office which is entitled to create a national DNA database.

Tanzanian Health Minister David Mwakyusa explained to lawmakers in Dodoma that though the technology had been in use for a while in the country, the law would enable the government to control its use.

"It is now important that good control mechanism is put in place to avoid any possible misuse of the (DNA) technology by some crooked people," the official said.

Muswada huu ukiwa sheria utawaokoa wanawake wengi ambao wananyanyaswa na wanaume kwa kukataliwa watoto. Pia itawasaidia wanaume ambao wanabambikiziwa watoto na wanawake na wanajikuta wanalea watoto ambao sio wa kwao!
