[h=1]Djibril Cisse confident QPR can 'finish the job' against Manchester City[/h][h=2]French striker believes his side will survive on the last day of the season after late drama on Sunday saw them snatch a victory against Stoke City at Loftus Road[/h]
QPR striker Djibril Cisse is convinced his side will avoid relegation on the last day of the season against Manchester City.

A point will now guarantee safety for Mark Hughes' men after Cisse scored a last-gasp winner at Loftus Road to beat Stoke City 1-0 on Sunday.

The Hoops' final fixture of the season sees them travel to Roberto Mancini's title challengers next weekend, but the Frenchman insists they will not rely on results involving their relegation rivals to keep them up.

"It's up to us," he told talkSPORT. "We're going to have to finish the job away at Manchester City. We know that's going to be difficult but we can make it.

"We are not the kind of team who is going to sit and rely on another team's result to be safe. We're going to go there to try and grab a point.

"We need one point and to see what happens with Bolton. We have to focus on ourselves and try to do what we have to do and what happens with the other teams."

QPR currently sit 16th in the table and two points ahead of 18th-placed Bolton, who travel to Stoke on the final day having surrendered a two-goal lead on Sunday against West Brom to draw 2-2.

[h=1]Silva targets Champions League win with Manchester City after Euro 2012 glory
[/h][h=2]The 26-year-old is revelling in his latest success on the international stage, before setting his sights on righting the European wrongs of last season with Roberto Mancini's side[/h]
Silva played a leading role in La Roja's triumph, even scoring the opening goal against Italy in the final, after figuring heavily in Manchester City's title triumph last season, piping locals rivals Manchester United with just seconds remaining. The only blemish on Silva's record last season was City's failure in Europe, with Roberto Mancini's men crashing out of the Champions League at the group stage before exiting the Europa League at the quarter-finals, and the 26-year-old is determined to right those wrongs.

"Once I go back to City, I know I will be fully refreshed because I want to win more trophies with them," Silva told reporters.

"The owners of the club have spent a lot of money bringing good players to the club. We have already started to win titles, including the Premier League.

"Now I hope to show we have the quality to do something in the Champions League."

Looking back on the last few weeks - including City's dramatic last-gasp title win and Sunday's 4-0 triumph over Italy - the Spaniard admits he would have struggled to predict such a series of events.

"I never thought anything like this would be possible," he added.

"Of course, every time you go out onto the pitch you try your hardest, then at the end you find out where you have got to. But you never really think about the possibility of winning both.

"I played every game, so I am very happy with my contribution. My goal helped the team towards an easy win.

"It has been a great few weeks for me and it feels superb."

[h=1]Cartoon of the Day: Manchester City face mountain challenge to stay on top of the Premier League pile[/h][h=2]Goal.com cartoonist Omar Momani gives us his unique take on the football news of the day...[/h]Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will take his squad to the Austrian Alps for an intense programme of pre-season training, it was revealed this week.
The Italian's training methods have not always been received favourably at the Premier League champions with double sessions reportedly having irked some members of the squad upon his arrival in 2009.

The players may be looking forward to some luxury chalet accommodation but may be less than impressed once the gruelling sessions get underway.

Regardless, it is likely to give Mario Balotelli an easy excuse to get the tabloid headlines into overdrive nice an early for the campaign so expect a little good to come out of the trip.

City 0-0 Dynamo Dresden: MatchReport

Nigel de Jong, Adam Johnson and Edin Dzeko looked on from the stands but there was a first outing of July for Kun Aguero who teamed up with countryman Carlos Tevez in a two-pronged attack.

Tevez shone brightest in the opening quarter, fizzing a 15-yard effort narrowly wide of the target and setting up teenager Marcos Lopes for a snap shot from inside the box that was blocked.
But just like Friday's defeat against Al Hilal the Blues couldn't find the killer pass or pace out wide to undo well drilled opponents. There was lots of possession but not much in the way of penetration.

Roberto Mancini took Aguero off at half time – the Argentine who scored the final goal of the title winning campaign was having his first outing of the summer – but left the rest of his senior players on a pitch that was cut up after an American football match at the weekend.
Yaya Toure was the night's most eye-catching City player and he produced the pass of the contest in the 66th minute when he sent substitute Vlad Weiss through the middle.

Weiss produced a fabulous looking chip but Fromlowitz in the Dynamo goal back-pedalled more quickly than Bradley Wiggins and tipped the effort around the post.
Subasic went close to settling the match via an own goal with a header late in the second half but luckily for him and Dresden it inched wide of the post and the resulting corner was cleared.

Mancini then went on a replacement-fest and swapped the rest of the team. He even subbed a substitute (Jelavic) as the pattern of the game became disjointed and both sides resigned themselves to a draw in front of 4615 fans.
The Blues will at least be hoping to get on the score sheet on Friday against Turkish side Besiktas, a game that kicks-off at 6.30pm CET.
City: Pantilimon (Johansen 74mins), Zabaleta (Elabdellaoui 74), Kolo Toure (Boyata 86), Savic (Mancini 86), Kompany (Rekik 68) Biton (Evans 86), Yaya Toure (Razak 70), Lopes (Weiss 62), Kolarov (Helan 74), Tevez (Scapuzzi 74) and Aguero (Jelavic 46, Bunn 86)
Dresden (first half): Kirsten, Savic, Gueye, Bregerie, Trojan, Pote, Losilla, Papadopoulus, Koz, Solga, Schuppan
