The odds

It is now obvious that the president wasn't ready for primetime. It is obvious that he is overwhelmed. It is obvious that he is discombobulated and doesn't know what to do. It is obvoius that he is not a good leader and has failed to lead even his own party that he chairmans.

Some have already started to speculate that he won't vie for re-election. Some have started to call on him not to seek re-election.

What do you think are the odds that he will run for re-election? I think he will....what do you think?

Maybe his presidency is a blessing in disguise as a teachable moment. Maybe next time around we will carefully vet presidential hopefuls to ensure we don't end up with a knockoff.

Kikwete anachukua nchi kwa muhula ujayo, halafu ukishangaa ya Musa utaona ya Firauni, atakayekuja baada ya Kikwete atakuwa bogus mara mbili ya Kikwete.

It is as if kuwa mediocre ni prerequisite ya urais Tanzania siku hizi, and the more you are so the better your chances of clinching Ikulu, as long as una "student government skills".

Does he feel dazed and disoriented too? Then gradual de-discombobulation followed by non re-election might help...

Government like in most work places is team work. You may not be the most talented or skilled leader but if you have a good team to back you up you appear exceptional. Like you know, the boss always takes credit & the blame for anything his team does. The biggest mistake Kikwete has made as president is surrounding himself with incompetence. If he had chosen able people to his cabinet and inner circle he would now be taking credit for their good work. Tatizo sasa bongo boss ana taka kuzunguukwa na watu wenye uwezo mdogo kuliko yeye and now he is paying for that. i say he goes for a second term. Whether he choses a better team next time around time will tell.

Nakubaliana na wewe mkuu. Even with a good team a leader still needs to lead but don't you think Kikwete's position has been made worse with people he has surrounded himself with? From EL, AC who were in his cabinet to the unguided missile by the name of Sophia Simba. I agree with you kuwa raisi ana hitaji vision laa sivyo ni kazi bure but pia I stand by my words kwa kusema ukiwa na wasaidizi ovyo basi hata uwe kiongozi mzuri kiasi gani ni kazi bure.

In my opinion the whole team including Kikwete is full of bogus, incompetent, good for nothing people who are there to accumulate wealth as much as possible.
