Tanzania Portland Cement Company Ltd
Speaking during the Distributors Gala Night in Dar es Salaam at the weekend, the TPCC Managing Director, Mr Pascal Lessoine, ensured distributors the firms products would be available everywhere in the country. You are part of the companys team and without your support we would not be where we are now. We know that 85 per cent of sales pass through your hands. So as a family, we need to continue with successes, Mr Lessoine told the distributors. Mr Leissone later presented 40 tonnes of cement to Mwanza Huduma Limited, after leading in distribution of TPCC products last year, followed by Lion Enterprises which got 30 tonnes prize, while VGK and Ujenzi Stores went home with 25 and 20 tonnes. The category that included new distributors with not more than two years in the market, Swafa Investment won the 10 tonnes prize. The MD said that last year, TPCC sales increased by six per cent, and that they hope to double it despite tough competition in the industry. Mr Lesoinne said after investing in the Kiln-3 refurbishment, bringing an additional 250,000 tonnes of clinker production at Wazo Hill, a big news is soon to come that will put Twiga Cement far above all its competition in Tanzania. This year, TPCC plans to reach 2.0 million tonnes of cement output, while the aim is to be going where our customers are instead of waiting for them in our offices, he said.
