As a proud and patriotic Tanzanian citizen, I feel compelled to shed light on the current state of Police Mess Masaki in Dar es Salaam. This prime facility, located on the cliff of Coco Beach with ample parking and breathtaking views, holds immense potential to significantly increase revenue for the police force.

Police Mess Masaki comprises a bar, a large but non-functional swimming pool, and three open spaces available for weddings and parties. Despite its prime location, the facility suffers from poor management, leading to inconsistent services, unsanitary conditions, and an unreliable menu with limited food options.

Currently managed by police personnel, the facility has not been able to fulfill its potential. I strongly believe that transitioning the management to a capable private sector entity, with clear revenue targets, could transform this underutilized gem into a thriving hub of activity and a substantial source of income for the police force.

I urge government officials and stakeholders to consider this proposal and take the necessary steps to ensure Police Mess Masaki reaches its full potential.

Why would you like the police force to engage in business activities? It is important to leave business ventures to entrepreneurs while allowing the police force to focus on enforcing the law. Police officers are trained to maintain public safety, prevent crime, and protect citizens' rights.

Diverting their attention to business activities could compromise their primary responsibilities and reduce their effectiveness in ensuring law and order. Furthermore, the involvement of police in business could lead to conflicts of interest and diminish public trust.
