Two Tanzanians arrested with Ksh.500K bhang in Suba North

Police in Homa Bay County arrested two Tanzanians with three sacks of bhang said to have a street value of Ksh.500,000 at Remba Island in Suba North.

The suspects Jackson Josephat (20yrs) and a woman identified as Annah Mwisawa (34yrs) were seized by Administration Police (AP) officers who were on patrol on Lake Victoria in co-ordination with the area deputy county commissioner.

According to Suba North Deputy AP commander Chief Inspector Elias Wasonga, the officers acted on a tipoff from members of the public who suspected that the duo were ferrying the drugs using a fishing boat from Tanzania to Remba Island.

Inspector Wasonga said that the suspects attempted to avoid the police officers and a pursuit ensued.

Upon reaching the island, reports indicate that they hurriedly offloaded the drugs from the boat, allegedly with the intention of hiding them in one of the houses.

The officers were directed to the house which they discovered was under a tight security and busted the two suspects with three sacks of bhang.


Inspector Wasongo has urged members of the public to work closely with the security agencies and continue to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of other suspects dealing with illegal drugs in the region.

The two suspects are being held at Mbita Police Station waiting to be arraigned in court.

Hehehehe Kwanza kile cha Arusha ndio kimewavuruga mpaka mnaibuka na kauli za kiajabu ajabu, kuna kauli na misimamo hutoka kwenu ambazo yaani lazima mtu awe amevuta bangi ndio aiseme.

Hamnaa!! Kwanza siku hizi ukikamatwa Kenya kama wewe Mtz inabid ufiche sana uraia wako, bora useme wewe Msomalia au Msyria itakua nafuu kwako, maana kwa miaka mitatu ya utawala wenu wa sasa umelea chuki kubwa sana baina ya Wakenya na Watanzania kiasi kwamba Wakenya wameanza kujibu mapigo.
Hapo awali japo Watanzania walikua wameaminishwa chuki dhidi ya Wakenya haswa kwa mfumo wa Nyerere wa ujamaa, lakini hamkua mumefikia level ya sasa. Mtanzania kunywa kwenye kilabu cha Kenya huku akiongea kwa sauti na kujitambulisha kama Mtanzania haikua issue, lakini nasikitika siku hizi ukiingia huku kama wewe Mtanzania inabidi unyong'onyee na kuwa kimya, tunakokwenda ni pabaya sana.
