Wana JF, greetings to you all. I have been following the current situation in the country and to be precise on matters going around the new constitution and more specifically on the type of the Government. Here are my views and lets think together.
- The current arrangement (two governments): have a lot of problems as we all know but somehow the union has survived and given a chance it might survive for some time to come.
- The proposed three governments (Zanzibar, Tanganyika and the Union (Tanzania?)), this one is somehow a replica of the former USSR (remember Gorbachov?) then we for sure know the answer, it is doomed to fail the day it is born. So this one is NO
- One government Tanzania with no subjects: very un realistic given the current antagonism between Bara na visiwani so this option is out of question.
- Tanzania/Tanganyika and Zanzibar: this one in my opinion is a right option for both parties. So let go! Achana na hii kitu muungano bana imekuwa pasua kichwa kitaambo sasa!
- Assuming option 2 is somehow accepted (as we are being told it is the will of the wananji), now lets look for the possible options of its formation taking into consideration of the 2015 general elections:
- The Chadema wins both the presidential and parliament sits for Tanzania Bara and CUF wins the same in Zanzibar, but CCM somehow snatches the Union presidency, de ja vue, USSR and Gorby story. Do the same in the reverse order the results will be the same!.
- Assuming the newly formed alliance of chadema, cuf and mageuzi, stays till the election time, so for simplicity lets call it CHACUMA. So if CHACUMA wins both bara na visiwani then fine, but due to the fact that urafiki ni wa mashaka, the who will be the president of where?
- Now this one is a serious one but might happen! Guesss what? Yeah you are right! If CCM win both bara and visiwani! And they have made no secret of them being the pioneers of 2 governments! Then a million Zimbabwe dollars question, WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
