These countries which did not VOLUNTALILY MIMICtbe USA were EFFECTIVELY FORCED to go along with what was described as sweepng history. THE RECENT USA EXPERIENCE CARRIES LESSONS FOR ALL. Problems of this magnitude are simply not accidents. they are the RESULT of ABARRANT INDIVIDUALS! when the issues they were treated as matters of THEORY. Today the EVIDENCE IS IN!...AS WE FEEL THE PULSE OF of ANT - AMERICANISM, it becomes CLEAR THAT SOMETHING HAS GONE WRONG. We see deep symtoms. GLOBALIZATION has NOT produced the BENEFITS that were promised. The GAP between haves and havenots is growing even in the USA. if this is the resultWHAT IS IN STOCK FOR DEVELOPING NATIONS? Some of the problems we see abroad were caused by how the USA interacted with other countries especially weaker developing nations. ACTING AS IF WE HAD COME UP WITH A UNIQUE GUARANTEE FORMULAR FOR PROSPERITY. Both through our OWN ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY UNCLE SAM is to day DR SAM. Dispensing prescriptions to the rest of the world. Cut that budget, Loweror remove that trade barrier, privatize that UTILITY Etc. The economists and Development Experts of third world, MANY of BRILLIANT and HIGHLY EDUCATED have sometimes been TREATED LIKE CHILDREN! If I seem to grade USA HARSHLY it is simply a matter of UNDERSTANDING what WENT WRONG WITH USA, WHY and MOST IMPORTANT, HOW CAN WE A FUTURE IN WHICH ECONOMIC POLICY IS BETTER MANAGED. Joe Stiglitz, while lacking anything new or original, is baking in hallowed fame after the recent events afflicting the western economic system, but he is nevertheless an extremist, and I dislike extremism of any kind.Stiglitz himself is part of this status quo he pretend to criticize - he served on the Council of Economic Advisers in the Clinton years from 93 to 97-.Assesment zake karibu zote zinafanywa na advantage ya Nostradamic prophecy with a hindsight bias.Halafu haya mambo ya kutegemea watu wote wawe sawa yalishindwa katika ukomunisti, lets face it, katika dunia ya leo ili ufanikiwe kiuchumi unahitaji classes, tatizo ni kupunguza tofauti tu.Lakini pia Stiglitz anafanya kazi nzuri kuwarudisha kati mabwanyenye waliojisahau katika mafaniko ya masoko ya mitaji, na kama nilivyosema mwanzo, muanguko wa masoko haya ya mitaji unamfanya awe relevant leo kuliko hata hapo nyuma.Nashangaa Obama hakumpa kazi, probably kwa sababu Stiglitz na Summers hawapatani na Obama anajua mabwanyeye wasingemkubali extremist asiyejua compromise kama Stiglitz.Lakini personally nafikiri kwa wakati huu Stiglitz angeweza kufanya kazi nzuri kuliko Summers.

While it is prudent to be cautious, it is ridiculous to be jumpy. One cannot be suspicious for the sake of being suspicious, that is not a way to live.Are the suspicions well founded?

The US having interests in aiding Tanzania does not necessarily mean those interests must conflict with Tanzanian interests.For example, the US may have interests in aiding the Mexican economy in order to reduce illegal immigrants from Mexico in the US, that does not conflict with basic Mexican interests, it actually complements the efforts to build the Mexican economy.

While it is important to verify that the US's interests are in line with our interests, it is ridiculous to adopt the notion that the US is guilty until proven innocent.We have to be pragmatic.
