Government is proposing to make a law that will make it mandatory for Ugandans to love their Country by being patriotic.This as officials from the Ministry of Presidency led by the Minister for Presidency and Kampala Frank Tumwebaze appeared before the Parliamentary committee on Presidential Affairs Committee Chaired by Nyabushozi County MP Col.
Fred Mwesigye to defend the Patriotism clubs in schools.Tumwebaze says that if this law is passed, it will store sanity amongst Ugandans to love their Nation.He says that religious people, NGOs have not provided a solution on how Ugandans should love their country they have done a lot to blame but with the law in Place will help a great deal.
Butaleja District Woman MP Florence Nebanda says government has been spending funds on this patriotism program but not much has been seen on the ground.Bundibugyo District Woman MP Harriet Ntabazi says everything which has been done through patriotism program has been illegal; but with the enactment of the Law it will be streamlined legally.
