Government is proposing to make a law that will make it mandatory for Ugandans to love their Country by being patriotic.This as officials from the Ministry of Presidency led by the Minister for Presidency and Kampala Frank Tumwebaze appeared before the Parliamentary committee on Presidential Affairs Committee Chaired by Nyabushozi County MP Col.

Fred Mwesigye to defend the Patriotism clubs in schools.Tumwebaze says that if this law is passed, it will store sanity amongst Ugandans to love their Nation.He says that religious people, NGOs have not provided a solution on how Ugandans should love their country they have done a lot to blame but with the law in Place will help a great deal.

Butaleja District Woman MP Florence Nebanda says government has been spending funds on this patriotism program but not much has been seen on the ground.Bundibugyo District Woman MP Harriet Ntabazi says everything which has been done through patriotism program has been illegal; but with the enactment of the Law it will be streamlined legally.

Nadhani huyo soldier (ingawa sifahamu) kama alikataa kwenda vitani basi atakuwa amevunja sheria za kijeshi na anaweza akashitakiwa kulingana na sheria za kijeshi, wewe kama mwanajeshi na unapewa amri na wakubwa wako wewe ukapinga lazima utashitakiwa, (and this has nothing to do na kuwa mzalendo wala Patriot Act) its just following orders and not being a traitor.

Hapo kwenye kushutumiwa kutokuwa mzalendo hata huku kile leo tunawashutumu watu sio wazalendo ila hatuwezi wala hatujawahi kuwapeleka mahakamani kwa kutokuwa wazalendo. Ila kama watu wana-incite hatred na kuchochea Terrorism kwa mgongo wa free speech / voice opinion that is another case entirely.
