Whatever he has achieved with what you call kikuyu english you will never do it in your lifetime. I think its juvenile to ask for the meaning of ang'ara just because the op missed the apostrophe.

even pronunciation is a nation disease to Kenyans especially Kikuyus who claim to have mastered the Queens language! BTW he sounds lame and stupid to be not able to pronounce a simple word like "challenge" I believe political and tribal cocoon cum syndicate is what brought him where he is and there is no way he can be smart! noooo way....nada mh-mh :nono::nimekataa

Yaani wewe ndio majanga matupu..pronunciation ni kitu gani?

namshauri Bwana "Mwagi" (the way he will definitely call himself with that "kithembe") aende na mkalimani next time anaenda kwenye summit kama hiyo yeye aongee Kikuyu halafu mkalimani atoe maana kwa kiingereza maana Kiingereza kimewashinda hawa watu imagine the whole CEO can not pronounce a word challenge!:A S 11::A S 109: BTW with all the bragging here most of Kenyans esp. Kikuyus have speech deformities apart from their poor disoriented dental formula i challenge lawmaina78 and Dhuks to come forward and produce audio of their daily conservation plus pictures of their dental formula if they won't have over 32 protruding teeth! You will be shocked...with all this nonsense bragging of theirs!

geza is being trivial. Fact is equity CEO has achived what for most us is a dream of a life time. He fully deserves commendation.

no matter what he has achieved on Earth that "lame duck" can not convince me with that broken cum poor oratory vs communication skills! No wonder i said he is where he is cause of tribal connection cum favoritism! We all know how Kibaki's tenure groomed Equity bank to be where it is today! nothing to boast about!

kadoda11, BTW where is mwathai? another creature floating in a "deep sea" World of fantasy with his shallow reportage seeking Kikuyu supremacy while his Mumbi cronies are milking dry Kenya right and left! surprised he hasn't written a report on UK visit to the US!

he heard you bro, will be here soon or play dumb like never seen your gut-busting post.lol

Stop being petty Geza. Respect is of great importance. this Dr, James Mwangi you are abusing won the Forbes African person of the year award, Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of The Year 2012, the financial times Top 50 Emerging Market Business Leaders, and many other Internationally respected awards. Achievements that we can not even dream of achieving. I know you guys don't give value to educational achievements as such but what Mr. Mwangi has done has changed the banking industry as we know it. How he talks should be of little interest considering what he has done to the banking field and now hopefully mobile sector. Huo ndio ubaya wa waswahili, badala ya kuangalia the big picture, unapoteza mda mwingi ukijishugulisha na vitu ambavyo havina hata maana. Respect that dude mkuu.

Having an accent gives one an identity. Listen to French or Germans speak English or even Nigerians, Jamaicans and South Africans. In-fact even Tanzanians, have had workshops with Tanzanians and man their English is kinda something else, they struggle a lot.
You have to understand there is a difference between someone who started speaking in English from form one and a dude who has grown in it. My kids here and most Nairobi kids speaks it so flawlessly without a tinge of "mikoani" accent. But you can't say the same for kids from shags, however, that doesn't change the brilliance in them. We have had kids from Maranda high school top the country in languages, both English and Swahili despite the fact they come from rural areas.

In Tanzania though, I noticed there is a breed of ladies from Kilimanjaro who speaks in English so skilfully, you'd think they dropped right from Nairobi, but the same can't be said for the rest of Tz.

Got a japanese friend and the way he pronounces his words is quite bad but that has never stopped us from communicating which is basically the essence of a common language.
