Johannesburg- 3 November 2015 - The UN Foundation today honored the AfricaAgainst Ebola Campaign giving an award recognizing the outstandingwork undertaken by the Trust and its leadership in response to theEbola epidemic.


Theboard members of the Trust where all mentioned by names for theircompetent leadership in mobilizing and galvanizing African Businessesand ordinary Africans raising more than $35 Million Dollars towardsthe recruitment, training, equipping and deployment of 856 healthworkers to Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

"This Award is such an amazing honor and we are greatly humbled.
Thisaward could not have come at a better time than when we arecelebrating two weeks without a single Ebola infection for the firsttime since the outbreak. We can declare, here, tonite that Ebola isbeing defeated.

Thissuccess would not have been possible had it not been for theselflessness, dedication and sacrifice of 856 doctors and nurses whovolunteered to undertake a highly dangerous fight against Ebola atsource.

Thesehealth workers made the difference and we dedicate this award tothese 856 heroes and heroines.

Wealso honor the work AU chairperson Dr Nkosazana Zuma for herleadership, African business people and ordinary Africans especiallythose that participated by way of donations through the SMS campaignor online to this worthy cause," said Strive Masiyiwa in hisacceptance of the award speech.

'Weare excited about this recognition and as a trust we have now entereda phase where accountability of the resources donated is critical andto that effect I can confirm that we have retained the services ofPWC who are currently seized with auditing and we expect to make theaudit report soon," expressed Mr. Phuthuma Nhleko Trustee andchairman of the sub-committee on audit and finance.

TheTrust was represented at the UN Foundation Awards Dinner by thechairman Mr. Strive Masiyiwa and Trustee Mr. Yusuf Manji. Other Boardmembers of the Trust are Patron Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma (AUCommission Chairperson), trustees Mr. Aliko Dangote (Chairman DangoteGroup), Ms. Cristina Stenbeck (Chairperson Kienev Group), Mr. PatriceMotsepe (Chairman Africa Resources Limited) and Mr. Phuthuma Nhleko(Chairman MTN Group).
