Good morning;

Apart from politics,I am a business turn around strategist and I have worked with a number of businesses and individuals in helping them map their career development.

The business environment is changing fast and this is not only locally but globally.

As an entrepreneur and a business manager you need to understand that the business environment has become very competitive so has the work place.

Today I want to point out some facts about delegation,its importance and how you can use the power of delegation to grow your career.

Delegation occurs when a person in a position of responsibility grants his/her junior permision to handle a particular duty without transferring the accountability.

In management sometimes,delegation is misconceived as laziness and it is true some managers delegate because they are incompetent.To tell the difference between a manager who delegates due to incompetence and those who delegate to build teams is the level of accountability.If you are a manager and you delegate some of your duties to your junior staff,then it implies that you trust in their abilities and above all you are ready to take responsibility in case things go wrong.

It is important to be ready to take responsibility as that prepares you for growth.

If you are a manager you should delegate if you want to grow in your career.It is important to learn the art of delegation early in your career as it will be useful when you grow and have large teams to manage.
In my next article I will discuss the art of delegation and how to go about it.

Stay tuned and all the best

Good day

Of course you are right but I am looking at it with respect to the person who delegates and not the one who receives delegations.
