What is death?
Is Death a phenomenon that exists on its own?
Is it absence of life?
Is it an exit door?
Is a transformation process?

What happens when we die?
Do we assume a new form?
Do we become formless,
Are we connected with our current condition?
Is death painful?
Is there any similarity between death and sleep?

They talk about blackholes, warm holes and the time-space dimension, has death got anything to do with that?
Is the key to life found in death?

What is the best time and way to die?
Can you see/know the time and place of your death?
Why do we have to die?

I am not trying to answer these questions nor am I asking them. These are just questions that are in my mind as the year comes to an end.

Have a nice life

Death is a punshment for disobedient.
Genesis 2:17 But of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you may not take; for on the day when you take of it, death will certainly come to you.
Human being promised to live longer upon obeying our parents
EXODUS20:12 Give honour to your father and to your mother, so that your life may be long in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

All the answers are in the Bible.

What is death?
To cease to exist. If you die, you simply assume a state you had before you were born in the first place.

Is Death a phenomenon that exists on its own?
No. Death is like a mysterious commodity. There is its trader, middlemen and ultimate consumers.

Is it absence of life?
Yes. When life is taken away, not from just humans but rather any of the vast living organisms, they are said to have encountered or succumbed to death.

Is it an exit door?
Yes and no. Yes - exit door from this life to another life of eternal existence for believers. No for non-believers. When they die ultimately, they cease to exist and that's it.
Is a transformation process?
Yes. But in the sense that believers are given transformation into complete holiness and fulfillment only DURING THEIR RESURRECTION.

What happens when we die?
The power that sustains our life stops its normal function just as one switches off electricity and there is no more power in the outlet.

Do we assume a new form?
Yes. Believers are transformed. But this does happen JUST AT THE MOMENT OF THEIR RESURRECTION INTO NEWNESS OF LIFE.

Do we become formless
In the grave, yes. Our bodies are actually organic matter. The graveyards are fertile because dead bodies of our loved ones have decomposed into simpler organic elements like carbon, etc, or may remain in their various chemical composition.

Are we connected with our current condition?
We are not at all diconnected.

Is death painful?
Yes, yes, yes! Even some of the people who wish for death are terribly intimidated by it. Death is excruciating --- physical, mental, social, psychological. Just imagining about it even now is overwhelmingly distressful.

Is there any similarity between death and sleep?
Yes, to some degree. Just as we go to bed at night and we sleep through the night unconsciously, so is death. However, every vital function of life shuts down COMPLETELY at death.

They talk about blackholes, warm holes and the time-space dimension, has death got anything to do with that?
They are quite amusing theories especially endeared by those who are not prepared to meet the reality of death.

Is the key to life found in death?
No. The only key to life is connecting oneself to its very Source. You cannot expect light in a system that lacks or has severed itself from its source.

What is the best time and way to die?
Death is a blessing when one has exhausted most of their physical powers due to degeneration and natural aging process. It is also a blessing when one has been forced to choose between relinquishing their impeccable values or face certain death. Death of this kind is always the best regardless of the means through which one dies, whether natural or in the flames almost equivalent to hell fire.
Can you see/know the time and place of your death?
No, unless you want to commit suicide. In some few instances, there may be special revelation. People can literally see when they are breathing their last.

Why do we have to die?
Because we cannot quite live indefinitely under the present condition our defective nature has inherited since time immemorial.

I am not trying to answer these questions nor am I asking them. These are just questions that are in my mind as the year comes to an end.

Kiranga
I think you are a materialist, please have your say on this.

Death is a certificate of entrance, either to hell or to heaven
No. The certificate of Heaven or hell is your personal character. If one has been saved by grace, their character washed in the blood of the Lamb and eventually transformed by God's power, heaven is truly their familiar home even from now.
