There is confusion at the university after The Vice Chancellor ordered it clossed some few minutes after 1.00 PM today.
This follows after the disputed election of the Student Organization Of Nairobi University on Friday where chaos erupted after claims of favour and rigging
Three students were arrested and charged in Court concerning on Monday but were released on a Ksh.20,000 cash bail.

Its said that detectives from the Provincial Police HeadQuarters In Nairobi had information that chaos were bound to erupt tonight
The Vice Chancellor was summoned today morning by the Nairobi PPo and advised to close the institution.

By 10.00 AM this morning 25 Landrovers full of the dreaded GSU Unit offeicers were seen in Down Town Nairobi parked at Kamukunji Police Station.
Thirty Minutes Latter 12 Truckloads of regular and AP's Rapid Response Unit were seen at Central Police Station.

Its said that VC Prof Magoha was escorted by heavy security detail from Kilimani Police Station to the University and few minutes latter, the Noticeboards were with a wash of Clossure Notices
Right now the GSU and Regular Police have moved to Halls of residence and ordered all students out of the University Premises

University of Nairobi has over 52,000 students in over 10 Campuses and members who manage to win their elections have clear authority to speak for students on National Issues. However their are claims that ODM and PNU politics have encrouched into the organization with some student said to have spent over 2 Millions in campaigns.SONU has an annual budget of Ksh 20,000,000.
Many of SONU's former chairman are now Members of parliament in KENYA

demokrasia imekuwa inatumiwa kufanya fujo Afrika.......what a shame

Indefinately???!!, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?, seriously?, thanks to the Gov., the future of the current students are at stake now!

That's the breeding ground of corrupt politicians!! The nursery school where they are taught all those negative traits that have become the essential skills of a typical politician.
The amount of maoney used in the campaigns is shocking, who funds them anyway?

I feel sorry for the rest of the student body...their regular 4 year degrees become a six year challenge.

This is just the beggining in Tz The ministry has introduced law regulations so more powers of students' Governments to be under Deans of students like nursery school pupils and President to be known as Chairperson we going back to middle ages by these draconian regulations .This is a shame lame shame democratization will delay for long in Africa even University students are reated like toddlers!!MAMA YANGU:A S clock:

If University election resulted into chaos, I then support the VC 100%
Why do we always need to fight, can't have better ways of dealing with political issues other than violence and disrupting others?!

Bad enough, they are just students totally diverting from what sent them there. Politics at the University isn't their priority. Wako pale kuelimika, now they their loosing focus and we expect them to be our future leaders.

Warudishe nyumbani wakajifikirie upya coz when a person looses focus njia sahihi ya kumsaidia ni kumrudisha mwanzo! Bravo VC!

Me nshasema sitaki kabisa Kenyan Politics, hawa madogo kadili ya vyombo vya habari wameongozwa na baadhi ya Wanasiasa but all the same Kenyan media No!

Good job VC...let them go learn some manners before letting them back. It's the same old story! A few students ruining it for the majority.

Mbona muonekano wa kiumbo hawa wanafunzi ni kama watoto wa sekondari?

That's an alarming question!

and for what gains?

Politicians who are looking for proteges Or should I say stooges!? They groom them to become like the old guards that we currently have in Parliament and the graft, corruption and Impunity continues unabated.
Its all Politics and not just a student affair.
