Rogimwa Agro Company Limited (Rogimwa) is a Mbeya-based agribusiness company which is primarily engaged in the distribution of agricultural inputs and trading in cereals and pulses produce. Started in 2006 as a sole trader of agricultural inputs under the Government `s inputs subsidy system, later in 2015 the company was upgraded to become a limited liability company vide BRELA`s Certificate of Incorporation No. 110221. Ever since, Rogimwa`s vision has been supported by the mission of building on the legacy of its business niches and to continually distribute quality agricultural inputs and food products at the highest quality standards and most affordable pricing mechanism to serve its customers.
Rogimwa`s business model is a three way traffic type, hinged on three key pillars, being AgriFinance, AgriExtension and AgriMarket. These pillars have been very effective in expanding the company inputs distribution channels to capture wider market, across the agricultural potential zone of Southern Highlands in the United Republic of Tanzania.
Rogimwa is also implementing several donor funded projects which are highly demanding and thus the company is looking for a well-motivated, result driven, qualified and competent person to fill the position of a Company Manager.
Job Title: Company Manager,
Report to: CEO/Managing Director,
Location: Company HQ – Mbeya City.
Purposes and Responsibilities of the Post:
- To strengthen the implementation and management of overall managerial activities, assisted by supportive staff.
- To lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the company and to supervise the work of employees, provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- To gather, analyze and interpret external and internal data and prepare useful reports.
- To ensure efficiency of business operations as well as setting strategic goals for the future.
- To ensure maximum profitability of our company’s activities and to drive a sustainable development and long-term success.
- To ensure that the company has the adequate and suitable resources to complete its activities (e.g. people, material, equipment etc.)
- To maintain relationships with staff/partners/vendors/suppliers/customers.
- To design and implement business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of goals.
- To develop goals and objectives that will guarantee attaining the growth and prosperity.
- To ensure adherence to legal rules and statutory guidelines.
- To represent the company in events, conferences etc.
- To be involved in hiring, training and evaluation of new employees.
- To oversee and making sure all departments are complying with the company policies and are on track to meet the company financial goals, in terms of marketing, purchases and sales.
- To develop and implement the company budget, prepare reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- To assess the performance of all departments or the company in general against the business’s goals and plans.
- Occasionally to perform human resource activities, such as performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary measures for employees.
- To manage and/or coordinate all company projects.
- Adult person with at least 5 year proven experience in the same or related business line.
- A bachelor’s degree holder or equivalent education level in business management or in agribusiness, or in any agricultural related program from a reputable education institution.
- A person with excellent written, interpersonal abilities and outstanding verbal communication skills, capable to direct the employees and lead the company professionally.
- A problem solver, who works to overcome the obstacles that may prevent any department or the company at large from achieving the set goals.
- With excellent organizational and leadership skills
- With excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel, databases and information systems
TAS 1,000,000/= being Gross Salary per each month.
Job Title: Irrigation Engineering Technician,
Report to: Senior Agronomist,
Location: Company HQ – Mbeya City.
Position Overview:
Irrigation engineering technician is expected to plan, design, oversee and manage the construction of irrigation projects to distribute water to agricultural lands. The person we are looking for should be equipped in terms of the knowledge to plan and design irrigation fixtures and installation of fixtures to requirements and specifications. He will be responsible for the construction of irrigation canals and river dams. He/She is expected to conduct research on soil drainage & conservation of environment.
Recommended Skills:
- Ability to analyzing requirements for a new product or service and creating a design to satisfy those needs.
- Ability to identifying the most appropriate equipment and tools needed to get a job done.
- Ability to use mathematics and/or statistics to solve problems.
- Ability to identify a problem, review related information, to develop and evaluate options, and implement a solution.
- Ability to use logic to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to use scientific methods to investigate and conduct experiments.
- Ability to compose and communicate your ideas in written form.
- Doing something where you can physically see the results of your work.
- Having a job where you can spend a significant amount of money and time outside.
- Having the ability to work with equipment or material things.
- Inspecting and loading equipment for the day’s work.
- Driving to the client’s location.
- Testing the soil and vegetation to determine irrigation needs.
- Mapping out areas for irrigation installation.
- Digging trenches and installing pipes and lines.
- Installing pumps and electrical timers.
- Conducting routine maintenance checks.
- Troubleshooting and replacing faulty parts.
- Completing progress reports and associated paperwork.
- A diploma is a minimum education level required.
- Proven work experience as an Irrigation Technician.
- Knowledge of irrigation and electrical timer systems.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of plumbing is preferable.
- Ability to work outside all weather conditions.
- Knowledge of soil, vegetation and climate.
TAS 400,000/= being Gross Salary per month
