Video: How Tanzania Harasses Foreign Investors

Dear kennedy0000
May I already declare, I'm a Tanzanian first and an East African next. Since the whole thread just mostly 'muddies the water' and doesn't really respond to your 'concerns', I'll try and do otherwise.

1. In any country where employment is an issue, expatriates or foreigners tend to be targeted or harassed at times. This is not foreign to either Kenya or Tanzania, it is a common issue. It doesn't make it right but in order to address this issue as East Africans, we need to be objective. If Tanzania or Kenya loses economically it's not just the country that loses but the region is affected too.

2. In the case of the incident on the video, again these are individuals who are clearly lacking in their mandate. Logic should be common sense, but again sense is not so common after all. Harassing foreign investors or business people, is NOT my government's policy, it is individual screw-ups. If that was the case we would have no foreign investor in the country left.

Lastly, and forgive me if I'm wrong, you sound very bitter in your post and might be speaking from a personal experience. Maybe if you shared your personal experience, we could probably discern where the problems were and address them in future.

PS: We do not export people; omba omba, witchdoctors or otherwise. People migrate for whatever reasons they wish.

Yet you are crying rivers after being kicked out?

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ uLDC mtamu

Yes. We would be 'crying' even if we were kicked out of Burundi.
It is our money that has been invested, and it doesn't matter where it was invested. What matters is the proceeds come back to Kenya.

So why are you crying?, whatever you say, but the fact is, you want to come to enjoy our better life standards than yours, we shall never allow that.
1)Peace
2)Unity
3)Food security
4)Equality
5)Faster economic growth
6)Better Health system
7)Better infrastructure across the country, not only in Urban areas
8) Fertile land available for everybody, not for few
9)fastest growing manufacturing sector
10)Low unemployment ratio

Don't cross the border please, if you do, then don't cry because you will be harassed .

Look who is talking. I asked you once, don't these vices exist in your country? Kazi yako ni kuweweseka tu. Eti failed state yet your country host civilians with failed brains na wewe ni mmoja wao.smh
We don't have tribalism, corruption, terrorism, crime and extra judicial killings the way you have.

There is a lot of unemployment in Kenya. I don't hear Tanzanians being harassed here everyday.
The case for Kenyans in Tanzania is different.
Soma hapa - Tough times for Kenyans deported from Tanzania

Teh teh teh tihiii
so for the queen's language is everything. you better understand the difference btn subject matter and the language.

Usitimia muda na akili zako nyingi kuwaelewesha hawa nyang'au, wanajifanya wanajua kila kitu hapa duniani, kila wanalolifanya wao ni zuri na ni sawa, lakini wangine wakifanya sio sawa.

Hawa ni wabinafsi sana, too proud and too much know, wanagombana na mataifa yote hapa Africa kwa kujiona wao ni bora kuliko taifa lolote Africa, acha tuwafunze adabu.

You really have a very twisted view of Kenya.
1. Kenya is peaceful - During election there might be some skirmishes, but very few are affected.
2. Unity - We are united in working hard to build the country. That's what matters. Political unity is non-existent even in the US.
3. Food security - The only time you hear about hunger is during prolonged droughts. And it happens in Kenya's Northeastern deserts.
4. Equality - I have no idea what you mean. I'm sure Kenya has more women MPs than Tanzania.
5. Faster economic growth - Keep talking about cooked CCM figures while IMF and World Bank shows our GDPs gap expanding.
6. Better health - Go see a doctor. Perhaps he will show you your life expectancy figures vs Kenya's.
7. Better infrastructure - Go see a doctor. Nairobi receives around 10% of the infrastructure budget.
8. Fertile land - There is a lot of fertile land in Kenya. But people just chose to live in urban areas. The fact that you have a higher rural population shows just how low you are on the civilization/development curve. Every developed country has a higher urban population.
9. Fastest growing manufacturing - Cherehani mbili, tunazindua.
10. Low unemployement - Yeah. I remember your statistic bureau putting it at 2%. Lower than Europe and North America.

Wewe toka kwa bedsitter yako utembee Kenya.

hoja za kinyonge hizo.
omba omba wanaokuja kuomba Kenya na muingia bila kufuata sheria, why don't you deport dem!!!??

vinginevyo you are benefiting from their presence.
why are you crying now and then for such trivial issues. what is difficult for you to evict them!!?? why don't you stop dem to flow into your country. don't you have a pre set mechanism in place to deal with such people!!?
no wonder Kenya is a hot bed for terrorists.

What happed is not impressive but its a good idea to attacked the Tanzania Generally......as if thats our system as a Government/Nation........Hatujafunzwa kuhubiri kubiri chuki.......as ur tribelism in ur Kenya.......

What happened in this case was caught on camera.
Lakini majority goes unreported. Especially when Kenyans are involved.

Kenya has the right to deport them, but we cannot be the biggest advocates of open borders in the region and then we go rounding up all East Africans.

Secondly, many Kenyans being harassed in Tanzania are their legally and have documents. It's pure jealousy because of their business successes.
