Two residents of Mbugani A ward in Nyamagana constituency, Mwanza region were shocked to find themselves listed as dead in the list of voters while they are still alive.
Speaking to the Citizen from Mbugani A polling station, Asha Ahmad Haji (31) and Christina Samamba (29) said at first their names were missing on the list posted at the walls of the polling station.
Ms Haji said she decided to go inside the polling station and check from the register book but her name could not be found on the list of eligible voters.
As we continued to search, I suddenly saw my name listed among the dead, but without a photograph as is supposed to be the case, she said.
Ms Samamba questioned where the National Electoral Commission (NEC) got the information and why her photograph is missing next to her name.
I cannot believe that I have lost my right to vote just like that, she said.
