Wanajeshi watano wa Jeshi la Ulinzi nchini humo(KDF) wamefariki baada ya gari walilokuwa wakisafiria kukanyaga bomu katika barabara ya Kiunga-Sankuri
Afisa wa Masuala ya Umma katika Jeshi hilo, Kanali Paul Njuguna amesema kuwa Wanajeshi wengine 10 wamejeruhiwa katika tukio hilo lililotokea leo majira ya saa mbili asubuhi
Aidha, imeelezwa kuwa Wanajeshi hao walikanyaga bomu hilo walipokuwa wanafanya kazi za kijamii kwa kusaidia kuchota na kugawa maji kwa Wananchi wa eneo hilo

Five Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers were killed after a vehicle they were travelling in hit an Improvised Explosive Device on the Kiunga and Sankuri road in Lamu.
KDF Public Affairs officer Colonel Paul Njuguna said 10 other soldiers sustained injuries during the Wednesday 8am incident.
“We thank the locals who offered assistance to the soldiers and call upon them to assist in weeding out lurking terror elements in their midst, in order to assist in the progressive pacification of Lamu County,” a statement from Col. Njuguna said.
The KDF soldiers were on a humanitarian civil assignment to fetch and distribute water to the residents in the area when their vehicle hit the device.
