-GE LM6000PC gas turbine connected to the generator via reduction gear box ( 3600/3600) rpm.
-Recently we are facing a vibration issue in the gearbox.
-The online vibration values shows a varying trend through out the day.
-The values increases during day time and the machine is running in alarm limit.
-[FONT=Arial, sans-serif]But during night time the values come well below normal limit, We have taken vibration and phase readings with an analyzer and found out that the readings are actually high and when the vertical values are high, horizontal values are less(during day time) and when vertical values decreases( during night) the horizontal values increases(But since horizontal readings are not taken online,it creates an impression that machine vibration is in normal limit).The phase values are varying during each set of readings.We have trended different operating parameters with the change in vibration, but the only parameter which is following the vibration is generator room temperature.But the maximum value of Gen room temp is going up to 106 F, which is much lower than the lube oil temperature temp(~180 F) and bearing temperature( > 200 F).
