...When you see meteorologists on your local tv stations forecasting about the weather, you've probably heard them say 'the doppler radar is showing that there is a 40% 'chance' of rain/ thunderstorms'....or something to that effect...

...now, my questions is: what does that 40% mean? That 40% of a certain area, say High Point, North Carolina will get rain/ thunderstorms and 60% of it won't or does the 40% mean that the chance of thundershowers happening during certain time of day is 40%?

Sorry dude but i think 'Chance' in this part answer the question you put bellow. Its like saying the chances for the occurance of storm is 40%....camon bro wats a tricky in here?

The reason I asked is because I heard something different. Now, do you know or you don't know? Being smart alecky with me doesn't answer my question....
