Why Are Most Degree Holders In Kenya Poor??

50,000 KSh is poor??? hehe...my friend you dont know what poor means...someone who lives in a 10,000 KSH ($100) house is poor?? by the way, KSH 50,000 is like $500 USD...even with the deductions. it does not fall under poverty...poor is that person who cannot even afford food and rely on food aid in Turkana....or that someone living in a Nairobi slum...or anyone who doesn't know how he is going to eat tonight....Well, 500 dollars may be lower than what other degree holders make in developed countries like USA or Germany but it is far from poor...whoever wrote that article is crazy...the title should have read...Why do most degree holders in Kenya make so little? and even that would be exaggerating since senators, CEOs, MPs, Governors and other leaders have degrees and they arent even close to being poor...the truth is, many people in Kenya are paid very low income and this is the same in most developing nations...and thats why they are called 'developing nations'

kweli kabisa ndugu upo sawa.....ni more than poor kwa kenya

After deduction zamifuko ya jamii na tax you remain with 35,000 almost to 700,000/= Ambayo mimi hiyo nikenda nayo High spirit au Runway just for a weekend narudi bila change. Cause one bucket of drinks will cost me 250,000/=. Nikinunua mbili?? Hiyo sio pesa. A degree holder huku wanalipwa hadi 6 million. Huku kunawatu wanalipwa pesa kicha mishahara in terms of dollars.

kwanza, change those TSH to dollars...ukiniambia 25,000 inanunua drink pekee yake unanichanganya...250,000 kenya inanunua gari....kisha my point is not that 500 dollars is a lot......infact, i think it is very little for a degree holder given the investments he made to get that degree in school..my point is that it does not fall under being poor...in essence, saying that a person who makes 500 dollars is poor is wrong..this guy can afford a decent home...he can afford decent food...he can afford to pay for HELB loans....that is not the definition of poverty...referr to the title and tell me if it is not exaggeration

Ulitaka alieandakia article aipike kidogo. Tunajua mnaongoza kwa viwanda vya cook figures. Huyo ni mkenya mwenzako mzalendo.

what does cooking figures have to do with this article? hehe...sindano nikama imeingia..huna hoja..mimi nataka u prove hili...how can a person who makes 500 dollars a month be poor..remember 500 dollars per month is 6000 dollars every year..that is South Africa's per capita income...

Utakuwa unaishi Tanzania ya Burundi. Mshahara uliokuwa quoted hapo unazidi what most graduates earn in Tanzania.

this is exactly my point...so how the hell is someone who makes KSH 50,000 shillings poor??? poor is not the word to use here...we can use the word in Kibera or Turkana but not in this discussion...if you call this guy poor, then what will you refer to a Turkana guy I saw on the news who has 7 children, 3 of whom are still toddlers and doesnt know how to feed them?

Nikiagiza tatu pesa imekwisha. Ice bucket nayo ongelea hiyo apo chini. Mimi sinywagi Changaa.

kuna watu Kenya pia wanalipwa in dollars...mfano mimi hapa...kisha unaifananisha kenya na tz...let me remind you...
Kenya is richer than tz...our per capita income is almost twice urs...our GDP is also higher than ur GDP even though we have a smaller population...kwa hiyo kama mkenya wa kawaida anatengeneza 50,000 ($500), mtanzania wa kawaida atatengeneza nini? will it be higher or lower? tumia akili mkuu..Kenya has many problems...many poor people...but this 50,000 shillings guy is not poor...tuseme tu ukweli

haya, baada ya kubadilisha hizo pesa kuwa dollars naona bado huna pointi yoyote...wewe una bahati unkunywa za bei ghali...i think thats ur point...but what about other tanzanians? ama kweli mwenye shibe hamjui mwenye njaa...naona una assume that all tanzanians drink expensive liquor kama wewe...that is naive...the fact that you have eaten something tonight, doesnt mean that all Tanzanians have also eaten...kuna wengi wamelala njaa...same to Kenyans..Similarly, the fact that you think that 50,000 ksh is what poor people make does not mean that that is what other Tanzanians think...kuna wengi wanatamani wangekuwa wana tengeneza pesa hizo..tumeelewana mkuu?

Mimi hapo naongelea private sector cause sijawahi Fanya mwenye government sector. Japo wengi wanasema government unakuwa more secure nakuna incentives nyingi sana.

hapo tz wameweka 49 billion...kenya GDP is 75 billion and was 69 billion in 2016...it was 63 in 2015...ina maana GDP yenu ya 2017 iko ndogo kuliko GDP yetu ya 2013...yaani unachekesha kweli...usifananishe Kenya na TZ...kisha kumbuka nyie ni wengi kutuliko zaidi ya watu 5 million...hiyo listi sijui umeitengeneza wewe sababu sioni Kenya pale..
