While Tanzania has always "plays it diplomatic" on issues that concerns the welfare of the EA block and the greater Lake region, Kenya out of desperation or bad leadership has always out-shun the general accepted principles of good neighborliness and reciprocating ill motives to a humble but diplomatic savvy, tested hence competent Tanzania in international Politics. As far as fair competition is concerned, the recent turn of events tell of last kicks of a dying donkey and as a result tries to "spoil the party" for the wind of economical take offs about to blow across Tanzania! Ask me why?
ICC stupid !!!! Culminated with diplomatic immaturity by both the President and his deputy plus all their Government assistants with Foreign Ministry taking the jackpot. While the attempts to get an overwhelming support at the AU failed as a result of SADC's (largest and powerful block on the continent) refusal to unanimously endorse the anti ICC resolution Kenya sought after on the bases "ICC unfair targets only African leaders"; the infant government of Uhuruto resorted to the divide and benefit tactics that are not sustainable but about to isolate Kenya further with the ICC case looming.
While the geopolitics and strategic location of Tanzania within the block hint of Tanzania to be a natural beneficiary of the consequences what is to be harvested at the ICC chamber; Tanzania a diplomatic master has played fair and has never sound promiscuous to the windfall of opportunities that visibly about to be gained as a result of the ICC!
Thinking of what will happen at the ICC; three scenarios are to happen either a verdict on Kenya leadership or a withdrawal of Kenya from that organ, unlikely to happen since Kenya is a signatory of Rome Statue that established that very vital organ to protect humanity Or else the two charged are acquitted. On either case, aside a rare exception of the third scenario to occur and if and ONLY if witnesses' testimonies happen to be futile to find the two charged guilty. Depending on the history of ICC that option is leaning more to non-existent. Either way with the remaining two, Kenya's position as economic powerhouse and her future economic prospects within the region are to be vehemently disadvantaged. Why so?
Sanctions stupid!! An economic embargo be on tea or flowers or both commodities that heavily rely on the Western countries as destined markets but unfortunately NOT on Chinese (the recent acclaimed savior by Kenyans boastful) since Chinese are leading World tea producers and culturally don't have affinity for flowers:help:. Among the three cases a projection of two scenarios just mentioned is more realistic. First, a verdict on the two principals mean reveals a jail term, and as per new constitution of Kenya translates into a new election. That is to happen to a most serious ethnically divided country that will definitely raise tension to an already strictly volatile situation meaning violence. Whereas a withdrawal of Kenya will mean an Omar Bashir' scenario to an already heavily indebted country. Any reality among the two positions Tanzania on the verge of taking regional powerhouse baton AND that explains the earlier back-stabbing cum spoiling the party attempts taken by the leadership in Nairobi.
Ironically, these two principals have shown signs of not contending to those two possibilities since "the acquitted" scenario is mostly likely to not happen unless a Divine Intervention in the form of a miracle. The situation is so considering a factual a just released Bensouda's list of eye-witnesses is backed up by over 20 individuals and at this moment the 20+ are stationed in the Hague under tight security to avoid any murder attempts by the defendants. If what is lacking with the Uhuruto in this situation is the charisma of foreseeing and behaving in a manner deemed appropriate to the forthcoming events while pursuing right diplomacy at the moment; these two that traversed across the "Nyikaland" to see H.E. Kikwete just to demonstrate to Kenyans the diplomacy acumen-ship towards the March election, are not walking the talk (as far as attempts on hateful instigation against Tanzania so as to isolate in the aim to inflict economic sabotage are revisited) BUT trying to sideline Tanzania now upon ascending to power, unknowingly shooting own feet  for these juvenile leaders of less than 5 months.
Surprisingly, the two principals have shown readiness to swallow their pride probably as a demonstration of their faith on Tanzania have repeated pushed for the ICC venue to be shifted to Arusha from the Hague unashamed. Asking where are the other three members on time of needy for Kenya? Or Is Kenya's faith on these other three only ends where the mission is to marginalize Tanzania on regional trade pursuits? Unfortunately, none of us have the answers for this two-faced leadership from the State House Avenue that strictly forget the other three when the matter is hosting a case the future of Kenya is strongly vested upon and they ought to answer.
Tanzania that her International diplomacy forbids opportunism has again and again been ready to extend an olive branch where peace and tranquility is needed including the time of PEV when the other three had sent an army to crush on people on the street as a result of a disapproval of stolen election results. Not to forget, at the time when the power negotiations were to crumble the main negotiator Dr Annan rang Kikwete to ask him of his intervention and in the next 24 hours a National Accord was signed by the two opposing parties giving birth to government of National Union that restored order.
Though a Samaritan anticipates nothing on his/her good will, one thing Tanzania as a country has to ask herself is whether it is that time to be greedy and embrace the opportunities about to avail with the demise of Kenya's prospects about to be bring down that nation to her knees be it on the form of sanctions as a result of ICC withdrawal or political turmoils on the day of Uhuruto verdict.
Kenya that has always been paying back greedy for generosity in form of propaganda and instigation that convincingly aim to sabotage the prospect of Tanzania in the region deserves no dime of mercy from Tanzania this time but ruthless economic maneuvers from her brother in the South.
May God bless Tanzania
